In this role, you have the opportunity to

Fill the gap between application developers and operations staff. We are seeking an excellent communicator, listener and a person who can break down and articulate complexities in a simple, concise manner. As DevOps Engineer, you will impact the organization by providing direct support with day-to-day infrastructure responsibilities, and should be able to help accelerate the technologies used at Philips.

You are responsible for

  • Automating systems to configure and deploy applications in standard, repeatable method using CI/CD methodologies

  • Building environments that support development and testing needs

  • Building and maintaining tools for deployment to cloud and physical data center environments

  • Improving automated cloud configuration, deployments, monitoring, management and incident response

  • Collaborative infrastructure development and infrastructure testing to meet rapidly growing systems

  • Working cross-functionally with various teams to improve infrastructure through automation

  • System administration, configuration, and troubleshooting of the Linux environment

  • Acting as a Level 3 support resource when escalations arise

  • Building internal platforms for use by internal teams to scale by automation

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • 3+ years of relevant experience focused on service reliability, DevOps, TechOps, systems administration, application development, build, release and deployment

  • Extensive knowledge of Linux, ideally with CentOS/RedHat distributions

  • Intermediate level coding ability in Java, JavaScript, Python, Bash, or similar

  • Automation experience with Ansible managing large deployments of Linux distributions

  • Familiarity with build tools, particularly Jenkins

  • Solid understanding of Docker

  • Understanding and experience with Build Repositories i.e. Nexus Sonatype

  • Strong knowledge of developer workflows with Git (BitBucket)

  • Experience with MySQL or other Relational Database environments

  • Working knowledge with monitoring systems, Zabbix, LogicMonitor, Nagios or similar

  • Experience working on complex 24x7 available distributed systems

  • Experience documenting processes, procedures and best practices

  • Experience migrating systems between various technologies
