Philips Senior Director, Clinical Services in Alpharetta, Georgia


In this role, you have the opportunity to

Provide strategic and operational leadership to maximize growth, while delivering best-in-class customer experiences and outcomes. As Senior Director (VP) of Clinical Services, you will develop the market strategy, providing a clear and compelling plan to leverage our unique strengths and capabilities. We challenge you to collaborate in the pursuit of strategic business opportunities and drive solutions across our portfolio of offerings.

You will lead a team of Clinical Directors, and an extended team of 450+ Clinical Specialists and Consultants across North America. Also, you will be accountable P&L, and delivering on financial and operational commitments. Finally, you will participate as a thought leader in developing similar Clinical offerings globally.

The preferred location for this position is Alpharetta, GA (relocation is provided); however, willing to consider US-based remote with up to 40% travel or more as/if needed.

You are responsible for (but not limited to)

  • Providing business leadership, direction, and motivation for Clinical Services business.

  • Leading an organization delivering effective and profitable Clinical Services; as well as, Clinical Workflow programs for our customer base in a rapidly changing marketplace by addressing and anticipating customer needs.

  • Collaborating with relevant partners (e.g., Marketing, Global Services & Solutions Delivery, Business Clusters, Business Groups, etc.) to provide input to new Clinical Services offerings to meet market needs, as well as anticipate market changes.

  • Setting the vision, defining and executing the strategy; while driving strategic and tactical initiatives to maximize customer satisfaction and profitable growth of the business.

  • Utilizing industry knowledge to identify complex customer issues, broaden customer relationships, and develop a reputation as an inspiring leader both internally and externally.

  • Championing “customer intimacy” and driving the Clinical Services business to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction in the healthcare industry

  • Developing a culture of employee engagement at all levels ensuring an empowered, effective, world-class Clinical Services organization

  • Setting the AOP (Annual Operating Plan / Budget), and delivering on financial and operational commitments.

  • Applying Lean / Daily Management / Problem Solving methods and tools to identify and eliminate waste from Clinical Services processes, and deliver productivity.

  • Harmonizing and standardizing processes, structures, and practices across the various Clinical Services organizations.

  • Benchmarking (at least annually) internal and external standard methodologies to inform and guide our Continuous Improvement efforts.

  • Modeling the Philips Behaviors, and serving as a Change Leader for the Clinical Services organization.

  • Implementing new delivery channels (e.g., “on-demand” education) and digital experiences wherever possible; and moving beyond “education” and “standard Services” to new and innovative offerings (e.g., Digital Education, Mastery Level qualifications, performance benchmark reporting to c-suite, value-added education, and consulting).

  • Partnering with other groups (e.g., Global Services & Solutions Delivery, HTS, other groups) to use the most effective delivery channel(s) for Clinical Services.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s, required; Master’s, preferred

  • 15+ years of relevant experience leading/consulting in clinical / service organizations in a competitive healthcare marketplace with in-depth knowledge of Clinical Services

  • Strong business insight and general management credentials to lead a $40M+ Clinical Services business

  • Demonstrated success in developing a sound, high-level strategic vision, and deploy strategies to translate key objectives into operational plans.

  • Bring an “outside-in” perspective, using customer, consumer, market, and industry insights for all decisions; ability to anticipate and translate customer needs into successful Clinical Services offerings.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (comfortable as a spokesperson in a visible industry leadership role); able to function as a peer with other senior executives, board members, customers, and external parties.

  • Skillfully interact with executive level management (internally and externally), possessing strong negotiating skills for critical matters.

  • Proven change management and organizational transformation skills, with deep knowledge of field-based Clinical Services processes.

  • Working knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma / Business Transformation, required; Lean certification, ideal

  • Continuous improvement based mindset, supported by experiences in a process improvement role or management of complex business projects.

Your team

You will report directly to the Head of North America (NA) Services & Solutions Delivery and will be an integral member of the NA Services & Solutions Delivery leadership team.
