Business Process Expert - Contract Lifecycle Management (BPE CLM)

Contract management is an essential part of our daily business, governing the terms and conditions based on which we do business and manage commitments with customers and partners. This becomes more relevant as we are developing new deal types like subscription or pay per use models and offer more complex solution through multi -year agreements.

This requires an effective way of creating, executing and maintaining such contracts in all stages of the lifecycle of our customer and partner relationships and full alignment with other commercial and operational processes.

In this role, you have the opportunity

to lead the development and optimization of our contract management processes and tooling and drive adoption, compliance and performance of these processes in our markets and businesses. More specifically, you will deliver the contract management capabilities for two major programs: The Solutions Transformation that aims to build our capability of selling and delivering sophisticated and long-term solutions to our customers. The Configure Price Quote/Contract Lifecycle Management (CPQ/CLM) Program that aims to deliver one integrated quoting and contract capability across all businesses and markets

Based on your strong experience with contract management you will drive the operationalization and continuous improvement of this capability. Your success in growing our maturity in this domain will be a key contributor to our future success.

The specific domain you will cover is Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) for the creation, application and maintenance of framework agreements with commercial partners and customers and to ensure compliance of contracts with applicable legal, regulatory, commercial and other rules, regulations and guidelines.

You are responsible for

  • Co-creating the vision, prioritization and timely realization of required contract lifecycle management

  • Lead the design, build and deployment of to-be and optimize current End2End commercial contract management processes – from creation to execution

  • Be the process custodian, safeguarding standard work, facilitating best practice sharing, delivering real change in line with program and business expectations, driving adoption and maturity development through continuous improvement

  • Deliver sustainable process performance and impact realization based on defined Key Performance Indicators and objectives in order to meet our overall agreed business goals and objectives

  • Ensure End2End alignment of dependencies within Market to Order (M2O) and with adjacent domains like Idea to Market (I2M) for innovation and development and Order to Cash (O2C) for fulfilment and service

  • Maintain, develop, and safeguard standard process architecture as part of the Philips Excellence Process Framework (PEPF) in line with the Philips Business System (PBS) guidelines

  • Be the go-to person and sparring partner for peers and stakeholders in the various programs , markets and businesses for contract lifecycle management

  • Collaborate and maintain relationships with IT for platform selection and activation of effective IT tools and the Philips University for the development and delivery of training and development of people

  • Build and operate a strong network of partners, subject matter experts and peers in Markets, Businesses and other functions to share best practices and drive continuous improvement

You are a part of

a diverse, global Market to Order (M2O) Business Process Excellence team in the global Business Transformation (BT) organization that supports our markets and businesses. We manage a portfolio of End-to-End transformation programs delivering new capabilities and drive the impact and continuous improvement of deployed capabilities to ensure sustainable contribution to the overall performance of Philips.

You will closely collaborate with the work stream leads in the Solutions Transformation and CPQ/CLM program to deliver the right contracting capabilities as well as operate a strong network with business stakeholders, subject matter experts and peers in markets, businesses, supporting functions.

You will be reporting to the BPO M2O

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • A seasoned professional with a 10+ years commercial background with proven experience in closing commercial contracts and contract management and execution in a B2B environment

  • Relevant knowledge of applicable legal, regulatory, and other regulations including SOx, Medical Devices and FCPA

  • Pragmatic, hands-on business insight, understanding the value of standard work to drive sustainable business impact. Able to design, deploy and manage this with an impact over effort mind-set

  • Strong project management skills and experience. PMP and Agile certification preferred.

  • Track record in continuous improvement and change management (Lean, Problem Solving, Daily Management). LEAN certification strongly preferred.

  • Familiar with process design principles

  • Working knowledge of the company – or similar – products and services

  • Working knowledge of current IT tooling used for contract management, CRM and quotation management and experience or affinity with IT development processes

  • Influencing and communication skills to challenge, educate, guide, convince and gain commitment at all levels

  • Solutions mind-set, able to tackle complex problems considering alternatives and consequences

  • Solid leadership and coaching skills, with cross-functional teams, using management by influence

  • Structured, organized and stress resilient personality able quickly to understand the issues and bring together necessary resources to resolve them

  • Willing to travel internationally up to 20% of the time

  • Fluent in English-speaking and writing, other international languages preferred

  • Master degree level through education or experience
