Philips Consumer Marketing Director in Amsterdam, Netherlands

YOUR CHALLENGE

Philips is eagerly looking to develop new business models, and expand into new business areas (as self and/or teamwork), as such this role requires a high degree of ownership and entrepreneurship.

Completely establishing a new value space for Personal Health from scratch, including Value Proposition Creation, concept creation & management, and unconventional go-to-market. This project requires a fair degree of reporting and engagement with senior management.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

As Consumer Marketing Director you will

  • Be responsible as Consumer Marketing Dierctor for New Business/ Value Spaces segment in Garment Care: target is to make this a sizable business by 2020 with a substantial EBITA

  • Develop the 2025 strategy and roadmap and in charge of the realization of the propositions

  • Manages win-win partnership – including the development of the legal framework to work – with 3rd party (FMCG), for joint product development, marketing, go-to-market model and launch in the laundry detergent segment

  • You lead and coach a Garment Care trainee and an intern

  • Lead Logistics, Finance and Marketing Communication into making this collaboration ‘operational’ including the management of the following: a complex supply chain process, the budget; and coordination within the sales force of two different companies.

  • Handle relationships with external partners for your own portfolio

  • You will also look after Accessory & Board portfolio

WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Master degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Industrial Design Engineering or related fields with excellent academic track record (an MBA is an extra asset);

  • 7 - 10 years of experience in a (matrixed) international business environment in the field of consumer marketing or product management (affinity/experience with Consumer Goods and digital marketing is a plus);

  • Experience with product launches is necessary;

  • Consistent track record with global consumer/retail brands with a shown, ability to work with multiple & diverse markets;

  • Validated experience in developing consumer winning propositions and go to market (GTM) plans that cover benefit areas beyond durables (i.e. experience in FMCG/Food)

  • Knowledge of new go-to-market models

  • Performs autonomously; highly entrepreneurial - yet analytical/methodical and hands-on to driving profitable business growth (result oriented);

  • Proficiency in working the entire value chain end to end, as the role requires new business creation, and the ability to tailor plans to meet local GTM requirements

  • Experience in leading & mentorship a team

  • Excellent interpersonal skills: international (& C-level) stakeholder management, informing, influencing, convincing, presenting, project management;

  • Insightful skills: working centrally and in local country organizations;

  • Business fluency in English (written & verbal).
