In this role, you have the opportunity to
Drive all design activities towards achieving a winning and consistent global portfolio (of products & solutions), while ensuring design is a key player in all the strategic management discussions and enabling the balance of regular new product development & Innovation work to future-proof the category in the global market!
You are responsible for
Encourage and drive thought leadership whilst facilitating creativity and ideation across the business.
Initiate and lead innovation based on User research and Design exploration.
Be the Brand design ambassador for the Category, ensuring people centric brand positioning whilst driving consistency across all touch points.
Develop long term design strategies and roadmaps, relevant to the Category Business Market Combinations (BMC’s).
Represent and position design and the Category through external networks/PR/Speaking engagements/events etc.
Manage Category Design programs and related design investments
Contribute to process convergence for integral efficiency and effectiveness among the different functions in the Category and contribute to process convergence for integral efficiency and effectiveness among the different functions in the business.
Monitor Category design quality in line with BG brand and design standards and initiate corrective action when needed.
Identify design competence & capability needs for the category, and manage & develop.
You are part of
the larger Philips Design organization of approximately 380 designers supporting all of our Philips businesses around the world and you will lead a small team of product and communication designers.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
At least 15 years' design experience in a relevant field and in one or more markets and cultures, and at least 7 years of management.
Very comfortable in working with Senior Executives, speaks their language.
Ability to manage partners within own profession as well as in other functions, at all levels – including Exco.
Demonstrates clear eye for business, and strong fact-based decision process.
Has worked in multidisciplinary teams and partnered with specialists beyond Design.
Native people leadership skills, outgoing personality, and a great teammate.
Has powerful understanding of all Design competencies including Product, CMFG, UX & Digital Design.
Ability to articulate Design Vision and Strategy strongly linked to Male Grooming Personal Care business needs
Can contribute in bringing Innovation to a new level.
Strategic Business Partner who will be a vibrant and active member of the Male Grooming Management Team
