Philips Global Procurement Marketing Manager in Amsterdam, Netherlands

Royal Philips is in an exciting marketing transformation journey and are looking for a Global Procurement Marketing Manager reporting directly to the Head of Procurement Marketing and Sales.

You will join a dynamic and diverse team of commodity managers, leading the marketing commodities globally in cooperation with our market procurement structure.

This position is based from the global Headquarters in Amsterdam.

You are responsible for

  • Interact internally and externally with Marketing executive level management, requiring negotiation of extremely critical matters

  • Managing a Procurement spend of between €50M-100M

  • the definition and implementation of the procurement strategy and policy with a 3-5 year sight line

  • Ensuring the integration and alignment of the procurement strategy and policy with the organizations business plan

  • Managing 17 markets supported by local procurement specialists executing the global and local plans

  • The approval on business review meetings and supplier evaluations for the assigned scope

  • Developing key strategic supplier partnerships within the assigned scope and lead efforts in the areas of supplier management relationship building, audit and problem solving

  • Ensuring that all Procurement related risks are controlled and mitigated

  • Managing suppliers base reduction and optimization

  • Defining the strategy for specific, critical or complex commodities

  • Creating policies to ensure transparency of the supplier portfolio and other processes

Indirect Materials and Services (IMS) is part of Philips Procurement managing the indirect spend for Philips as a total via matrixed organization (a Commodity Cluster on the vertical axe and a Market Procurement set up on the horizontal axe, covering all Philips Markets globally). To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (eg. MBA, Marketing, Supply Management) (required)

  • Relevant working experience in a large multinational company (required) in a procurement and/or marketing environment

  • You have the potential to develop in other commodity areas within the indirect and direct Procurement fields

  • Proven track in managing general Indirect Materials spend within a global scope

  • Soft skills like people management, excellent communication skills, managing virtual, multi-cultural teams, leading change

  • Commercial skills such as negotiating or subcontract management

  • Ability to continually innovate and improve the way of working within the assigned scope to meet the changing needs of the business and customers
