In this role, you have the opportunity to
Prepare and lead the post-merger integration activities for acquisitions or Joint Ventures to ensure a smooth transition into Royal Philips. Together with the BGs you will be responsible for ensuring value creation and business objectives of the acquired targets.
You are responsible for
As our New Venture Integration (NVI) Program Director you will participate in the deal team of an M&A project with respect to integration as the Post Merger Integration expert. You will partner with and coach the Business Integration Leader in the NVI methodology used to define and deliver post-merger integration strategy for the RFA.
The NVI Program manager is also responsible to:
Ensure the granular planning and execution of the value creation among work streams
Ensure the support of key business functions to aid with integration strategy as required
Partner with the Business Integration Leader to lead the integration process and leverage the Philips organization
Phase in functional work streams like IT, SCM, HR, F&A, M&A, Communications, etc., to maximize value creation.
Monitor business and financial performance and take all necessary corrective actions to ensure that the overall business and financial performance targets are met by the applicable business during the integration process
Responsible for the after care of the acquired business and identification of additional value creation opportunities.
Act as an intermediary between the NVI Functional Experts and the acquired business and sector, country, and corporate functions
Drive continuous improvement; lead the activities aimed at delivering continuous improvement across the projects
Contribute to the NVI Competence Centre by sharing experiences, best practices and lessons learned
You are part of
Post Merger Integration team (Amsterdam & Boston), which sits in the Strategy, Mergers & Acquisitions and Partnerships (SMAP) department. SMAP’s focus is on vision 2025 (longer term strategy), portfolio management and execution, driving organic and inorganic growth for Philips. Partnering with Businesses, Markets, Solutions teaming up with I&S to ‘perform’ and ‘transform’.
In this role, you should have the following skills and experience
You already have hands-on experience and knowledge of at least 2 different commercial and/or operational roles (cross functional) and overall business experience of around 10 to 15 years.
Besides that you have:
Masters degree, MBA, or other post graduate work required
Successfully managed multiple projects (5-8) in varying stages at the same time
Successfully managed cross functional teams, often located across the globe
Experience in a post-merger integration is a plus
Worked successfully within differing business cultures; a variety of country cultures a plus
Successfully managed through influence rather than direct management
Strong business acumen, Project Management and Six Sigma experience / certification a plus
Lean experience /certification a plus
Strong coaching, analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
Strong personal presence and awareness; must be able to operate up to three levels above and below current grade level
High level of empathy and a strong sense for cultural differences and how to bridge them
High level of integrity
Ability to prioritize work based upon changing demands; solid sense for operational priorities
Ability to make decisions within uncertainty
Ability to work both independently and in remote project team setting
Ability to work in a team environment and have a willingness to share knowledge
Closing date of this position is Sunday the 21st of April 2019. After a first skype interview, the Face 2 Face interview round will take place at our office in Amsterdam.
