Influence strategy and growth in a leading Health Technology company. Are you a highly talented strategist – currently working in a top-tier strategy consulting firm, or a strategic role in a corporate environment – that can support Philips Leadership in making strategic decisions? As a Senior Manager you will directly support and influence key decisions made at the highest level of the Philips organization. As Ambassador for Image Guided Therapy (IGT), you will support the strategic choices of the IGT Cluster and act as right-hand to the Head of Strategy & Business Development (S&BD) for IGT. You will work closely with Leadership of the IGT Cluster and the Cluster Businesses, i.e. IGT Systems, IGT Devices, and EPD.
In past years, IGT has had a successful and consistent strategy focused on capturing a higher share of the total procedural value. As part of this strategy and enabled by several acquisitions, IGT has expanded its offering from systems only to diagnostic and treatment devices for interventional procedures in the coronary, peripheral vascular and electrophysiology domains. The objective is to further expand our presence in these clinical domains and also expand into new clinical domains; both organically and inorganically. Strategy will need to drive and facilitate decision-making on where and how to expand.
You are responsible for
Own and drive specific strategic initiatives or projects, guided by the IGT Cluster S&BD Lead
Conduct high quality, meaningful, evidence-based business analyses related to the strategic and competitive position of the IGT Cluster
Build and communicate / present actionable strategy recommendations
Support the IGT S&BD Lead in planning and preparing key strategic initiatives and project pipeline
All projects will focus on IGT and the strategic agenda of IGT in support of Philips’ ambitions. Projects will mostly focus on IGT expansion and how we can capture more procedural value, but can also include specific deep-dives on selected business issues.
By working closely with the IGT Businesses and its Leadership, you will get an in-depth perspective on the specific opportunities, business dynamics and leadership & culture, thereby creating a unique stepping stone for a subsequent successful career in the Cluster and broader Philips organization.
You are part of
Structured around 3 global hubs located in Amsterdam, Cambridge and Shanghai, the Strategy team consists of top-level strategists with wide-ranging backgrounds, nationalities, and competencies. The team works with Philips businesses, market organizations and functional teams, supplying them with deep business insights, actionable strategic direction and thought leadership.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a top tier Strategy Consulting firm (BCG, Bain, McKinsey, Roland Berger, etc.) plus MBA from a top tier business school
Or non-MBA candidates: minimum of 5 years Strategy Consulting experience alternatively, 6-8 years in New Business Development or strategy role for a top-tier international company
International business experience
Master’s in Business, Science or Engineering with excellent academic track record
Excellent analytics and quantitative skills
Fluency in English, both written and verbal
Willingness to travel (25%)
