In this role, you have the opportunity to
Investigate and develop innovative solutions in cardiology ultrasound and drive meaningful innovation for cardiology patients. You will be comfortable working with a diverse team to define new software requirements for translating research into new products that support cardiology ultrasound solutions. You will be leading a broad range of research activities related to development and implementation of clinical programs and enabling technologies.
You are responsible for
Leveraging your experience in software engineering, data science and medical imaging to create solutions in Cardiology that can extract clinical information from Ultrasound that will impact diagnosis and treatment plans
Providing technical direction as part of strategy, roadmap, and product development activities
Staying current on trends in ultrasound including beamforming, image processing, and workflow technologies
Leading clinical or technical research and feasibility together with internal/external teams
Ensuring performance of new products/features and for setting expectations to senior management regarding the performance capability and development risk of new technologies and capabilities
Providing technical leadership for product development and research, transducer optimization, algorithm design, HW design, SW design and software development
You are a part of
The Clinical Science team is composed of clinical scientists and clinical specialists. Together we work to define a technology strategy, explore new technology, coordinate research with internal Philips research as well as with leading clinical academic centers worldwide, lead and direct product development to ensure our product solutions are meaningful and directed at key customer needs.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
PhD (highly preferred) or Master’s degree required
Experience in medical imaging, ultrasound imaging is a plus
Experience with deep learning or machine learning and proven skills in algorithm design
Experience in medical imaging product development
Strong software engineering skills in C, C++, C# or MATLAB
Strong written and verbal communications skills to interact with clinical partners and customers
*This role will initially be based in our Andover office. Philips will be relocating this office to a new site at Cambridge Crossing , a large development underway on the Cambridge-Somerville-Boston line. This is a very exciting time to be joining Philips, as this new location will be our largest North American R&D innovation center. The new office is set to open in early 2020.
