Philips Engineer for Electronic Components (m/f/d) Medical Technology in Böblingen, Germany

In this role, you have the opportunity to

be responsible for the management of a family of electronic components used in printed circuit assemblies for Patient Monitors. This includes identification and qualification of new components for our designs and managing quality issues based on these components. You will perform all these activities in a highly regulated environment based on FDA, ISO 13485 and other requirements.

You are responsible for

  • Partnering with our R&D department and external suppliers in new product development

  • Identifying, selecting and qualifying electronic components for the use in our Philips Patient Monitors

  • Documenting all results and related engineering changes.

  • Managing part change notifications (PCN) provided by out component manufacturers

  • Managing quality issues caused by components which are assigned to you

You are a part of

our Patient Care Monitoring Solutions (PCMS) Materials Engineering team. Together you work with a worldwide supply base to help ensure high quality purchased materials. You lead Materials Engineering activities during new product development, portfolio maintenance, purchased material quality issue resolution in the area of contract manufacturing. You and your colleagues work closely together in order to support our striving, successful Patient Monitoring business to achieve their goals. With our high end technology products and solutions, we are the world leader in the Patient Monitoring business with over 40% market share. We are proud of our strategic hub in Boeblingen with its 850 highly educated and passionate people who work with us to stay at the top of the market.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in a technical field or equivalent

  • A minimum of 3 years of technical experience with electronic components and good knowledge of electronic circuits

  • Medical device manufacturing experience (ISO 13485)

  • Project Management experience in an advantage

  • Basic understanding of printed circuit assembly processes is desired

  • Skills to use various IT Applications (e.g. SAP, eDMR, MS Office Applications)

  • Strong analytical and independent problem solving skills

  • Buiness fluent in English, ability to communicate in German is an advantage
