In this role, you have the opportunity to
take over the responsibility to align the Commodity and Business strategies to support the main goals of our Philips Patient Monitoring business. You identify and drive projects to reach defined cost reduction and risk mitigation goals. This includes working with R&D, Material Engineering and Marketing to identify clear specifications and requirements and working with suppliers to assure the most appropriate suppliers are selected for our patient monitors developed and produced on site. You lead the supply base consolidation, the suppliers risk mitigation effort and the procurement quality initiatives.
You are responsible for
Being a global Procurement Engineer for our Patient Monitoring business in terms of electronic components.
Identifying opportunities in the new product design process through target costing, and managing cost drivers and data sources to improve the design decision making
Supporting price negotiations with fact-based information and opportunities to drive short and/or long term product cost reduction improvement
Supporting the deployment of early supplier involvement through target costing and tracking for assigned products
Providing the cost elements for assigned products, as required improving total cost of ownership for the cost roadmaps for key products
Analyzing cost trends, develop and review cost forecasts
Maintaining updates to the cost drivers for assigned product and ensure that information is available as required
You are a part of
our Procurement Organization and our Procurement Engineering team consisting of 6 colleagues. You all work closely together in order to support our striving, highly successful Patient Monitoring business to achieve their goals. With our high end technology products and solutions, we are the world leader in the Patient Monitoring business with over 40% market share. We are proud of our strategic hub in Boeblingen with its 850 highly educated and passionate people who work with us to stay at the top of the market.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Bachelor’s or Master's degree in a technical field or equivalent
At least 3 years of experience in Procurement Engineering or R&D
Strategic sourcing experience required, R&D experience is an advantage for this role
Skills to use various IT Applications are a benefit (e.g. SAP, MS Office Applications)
Strong analytical and independent problem solving skills
Effective communications and listening skills, both within and outside of departmental boundaries
Buiness fluent in English, ability to communicate in German is an advantage
