Deals with the day-to-day operations of IT Datacenter systems and/or supports the users in their daily use. Solves problems, either by own analysis or by escalation to 2nd line support function/ global support vendor(s) and chases the solution for closure. Responsible for the management, operation and maintenance of systems, including updates, data migration, authorization, etc. Works independent though in partnership with remote/onsite global vendor. Deals with the more complex issues as 2nd line support for the helpdesk, or will be the Infrastructure lead for the site(s). Proposes tactical and strategical options on IT Infrastructure keeping in line with new technologies (both cloud and on-premise) and industry trends like AWS, Azure, Storage-backup. Able to envisage > lead > execute > deliver IT infrastructure programs/projects. Capable DC operational issues on Unix/Win servers, Storage-(NetApp, Data Domain) backup (Networker, TSM) or similar other technologies/platforms
Detailed Job Description
Infrastructure Support Officer/engineer is a member of the IT Ops team and supports the IT Ops mgr in coordination and integration of Datacenter Infrastructure services (like servers, storage-backup etc.) provided & supported by internal and external parties/vendors/partners.
Infrastructure Services Support (both on-premise and cloud based AWS etc.)
Lead and deliver IT Datacenter Operations services (servers, storage-backup etc) in order to enable the information systems to facilitate the business processes.
Create and maintain documentation of components, design and maintenance
Lead and deliver projects/programs related to Site IT Infrastructure (cloud, on-premise, storage-backup etc.)
Participate in global IT projects, in accordance with operations strategy and guidelines, in order to integrate new functionality in existing infrastructure or to extend/change the infrastructure to improve the shared services.
Makes presentation slides/technical proposals, able to think next steps ahead of time, proposes and challenges established procedures for good!
Follow technical developments, analyze the possibilities to initiate and create improvement proposals and change request, in order to improve the quality, functionality and the cost effectiveness of the infrastructure.
Support the agreed services in accordance with SLA. Control and assist global service providers for local issues. Assist end users in communication with IT and usage of IT tools.
Monitoring the existing technical infrastructure for possible improvements or necessary changes, in order to keep the infrastructure aligned with the requirements of the business processes and to maintain security at all times.
Work with vendors/partners to ensure SLAs are met, operational issues are resolved, plan of approach is followed and execute to perfection to meet Infra related deliverables
Experience Required: 5-8 years of hands-on IT infrastructure experience
