Philips Java Developer in Bangalore, India


You are responsible for

  • Assist project architect in developing detailed architecture and design

  • Performs detailed design, coding, testing and all related documentation for a project

  • Does detailed design within specified top level design/architecture

  • Implements the detailed design for the component in a standard and efficient way

  • Unit tests the components developed and reviews other’s implementation

  • Integrates the component in to the overall system and supports integration testing

  • Supports the verification and validation team by resolving the issues / defects in a timely manner

You are a part of

Serviceability R&D focuses on serviceability engineering and provides SW solutions in the space of Serviceability Platform, Analytics Solutions Platform and Remote optimization.

We develop software to install, diagnose, service and monitor medical devices. We also offer tools and methods for the creation and sharing of device diagnostic knowledge using latest technologies.

We work with BIU R&D groups, Service Innovation groups, Philips Research, Field and Remote Service Engineers & Specialists to develop the right tools, applications and mechanisms for serviceability.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • 5-9 years experience in SW development

  • Hands on experience using Micro Services – Spring boot, Containerization - Cloud Foundry, Deploying applications in containers, AWS

  • Experienced in integrating backend RESTful services with Client/UI side technologies with loosely coupled, flexible solutions

  • Heavy use of client side scripting using JavaScript, Ajax, AngularJS, and Web 2.0 technologies such as jQuery

  • Good Understanding of Database design techniques (such as normalization)

Process & Soft Skills:

  • Good Understanding of CD/CI practices and tools and awareness of QMS Processes.

  • Should be very proactive with go-get attitude.

Nice To Have

  • Strong with PL/SQL procedures and tuning techniques to improve performance and integration with object technologies

  • Experienced with Authentication and Authorization APIs such as Spring Security to develop custom Role Based Access Control mechanisms

  • Experience in designing and prototyping user interface layouts to match usability requirements

  • Have experience with integrating new systems and applications from legacy environments

  • Review documents / conduct interviews to understand – business needs, organizational readiness, technical, and application framework

  • Define layered architecture and lead technical teams – presentation layer, data layer, business layer, etc.

  • Agile/Scrum software development experience.
