Position summary: Lead clinical development activities for Radiology Workflow Solution (RWS). Main responsibilities include understanding hospital & Radiology workflows, identifying customer needs, writing and managing detailed requirements specifications, supporting the R&D teams throughout the development life cycle, clinical testing, validation and training – internally and with customers.
Key Areas of Responsibilities (KARs):
Lead clinical applications innovation in a radiology workflow solution
Prepares and participates in release planning, contributes to program increment planning, program backlog refinement, and preparation/prioritization of portfolio backlogs to continuously synthesize into program backlog and then to team backlog
Drafts the team’s specific objectives for the program increment, defines iterations and stories for the team
Should be able to clarify all clinical requirements obtained from end customers and marketing and translate them into a mode that can be communicated to engineering teams (development and verification)
Should possess hands on experience in authoring use case documents, requirements documents based on the high-level marketing and end-customer requirements
Defines stories and provides input for user story details and priorities, establishes story acceptance criteria, accepts stories into the baseline / the final iteration plan
Should be able to test the system under development from an expert verifier point of view and identify bugs and deviations from the originally defined requirements and perform clinical validation (internal or external)
Should be able to identify and report critical issues involving patient safety and hazardous situations (e.g. wrong identification of patients) etc.
Contribute to the enhancement of clinical understanding within the R&D department: provide training sessions, clinical updates, share customer insights, new developments, etc.
Role Competence/Skills :
Should have a good understanding of the radiology workflow and of the software development life cycle
Should have a strong knowledge of Agile/SAFe way of working and prior experience in defining PI backlog for Software Products
Hands-on experience working with agile planning tools like TFS
Must be able to very clearly articulate (both written and oral) the expectations to the stakeholders
Knowledge of healthcare domain, Radiology workflow, Radiology Information Systems, PACS experience
Should possess good communication, presentation, facilitation and stakeholder management skills coupled with a solid understanding of the clinical domain
Good to have working knowledge and familiarity of DICOM/HL7/IHE/HIPAA standards
Relevant experience needed to do this job:
7 to 12 years with a good understanding of the clinical domain in the area Radiology Workflow, RIS-PACS
Area of Experience : Software Product development/ similar field as a clinical expert

Quick decision making. A clinical specialist may have to quickly decide on an issue after considering several factors like patient safety, product quality, customer acceptability etc.
