The Radiology Informatics (RI) BIU has been creating and delivering the best-in-class enterprise-wide imaging and informatics experience around the world. Working together across the BIU, SCS and our key markets, we distribute more than 60 million images and reports each year. Our enterprise distribution capability without the prohibitive up-front capital expenditure has ensured that we continue to lead the Picture Archival Communication Systems (PACS) market in North America while penetrating key international markets. We have extended beyond the traditional radiology workstations by creating new solutions that allow clinicians to access images anywhere on their mobile devices. Our advanced workflow solutions are poised to accelerate clinical productivity and ensure faster access to diagnosis and care to the patients. This year shall witness new innovations that include being able to manage visible light images and videos to advanced analytics that will bring true value to our customers.
The RI Bangalore organization is 140+ member strong and has the complete ownership of the core IntelliSpace PACS solution ( https://philips.to/2NndMth ) with teams that are focused on delivering the next generation radiology client, solutions for our customer service staff, complete sustaining support and solution testing. The organization has an end to end system ownership working in close collaboration with marketing, service and supply chain organizations to deliver on these solutions.
This position is responsible to develop, own and deliver Philips IntelliSpace PACS/Universal Data Manager (UDM) capabilities for RI business perspective in collaboration with product marketing + SCS organization. This position shall support the senior management in driving innovations and initiatives to position the teams at highest performance levels.
Responsibility & Key Result Areas
Support the creation and development of the PACS/UDM architecture and technology roadmap along with the lead Architect
Owns key layers of the product architecture with responsibility for integration with Common Apps Platform
Responsible for performing root cause analysis of field issues, feedback and driving corrective actions to improve customer satisfaction.
Responsible for quality and stability of PACS/UDM install base.
Responsible for continuously improving release quality of PACS/UDM and meeting non-functional requirements at every release consistently
Responsible for ensuring consistency in high-level SW design flow down into detailed design, code and unit/module/integration testing of specific release train
One of the technical contacts for the implementation of external & internal interfaces supporting the lead architect
Co-Responsible for creating epics, organizing scope for execution through program increments, providing estimation and streamlining execution practices for quality upstream, code quality improvements, design quality improvements.
Reviewer of detailed design and critical defect fixes
Support risk management, feature integration, sub-system verification, and defect management activities
Establish long-term directions for software technologies and methodologies including tools to be used during design phase along with Lead Architect
Shall be responsible for product quality and shall identify opportunities to improve product quality
Shall be responsible for building the right competency and talents to meet release quality and deliver on future roadmap of PACS/UDM
Shall establish a strong technical organization and sustain it with highest level of competency (product + Healthcare + clinical workflow) within system team.
Hire, coach and mentor other architects & team members in the RI R&D teams.
To assist Program Manager in identifying current and future competency needs of the system verification teams.
Collaborate across all cross functions and with customers to deliver solutions that grows the RI business + improves customer satisfaction.
Represent RI in specific forums and on select initiatives – internal and external to Philips Healthcare
Role Competency & Personal Characteristics
The role requires a panache for being hands on with coding/software design/reviews and usage of architectural principles for creating enterprise level solutions
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (computer science or equivalent) with 15+ years’ experience in Application/Software Designing
At least 5 years+ of experience in Architecting Server Side/Backend Solutions
The experience should include having worked recently in solutions deployed at an enterprise scale
Good understanding of latest DevOps practices and the influence of architectural choices on DevOps and vice versa
Experience with software design concepts, practices, modern development methodologies such as Agile, Lean, TDD, Clean Code, and CI/CD
Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills.
Self-starter, quick learner, ability to work independently.
Ability to work in evolving areas with potentially high ambiguity levels
Effectively work locally and with global teams
