Philips Software Engineer II - Java and Kotlin in Bangalore, India


In this role, you have the opportunity to :

For our new project, to provide a BLE based E2E connectivity, based on a Linux gateway and Mobile based gateway we are looking for bright engineers to join us to be part of this exciting journey in creating the next generation solutions for Connectivity

You are responsible for

  • Responsible for analyzing and understanding requirements

  • Design and implement the requirements by collaborating with System Engineers and Architects

  • Performs detailed design, coding, testing and all related documentation for a project

  • Ensure deliverables are on time and of high quality. Responsible for ensuring code quality of own deliverables

  • Implementation of Unit Test Cases using relevant testing tool

  • Supports team in defect fixing and investigations

  • Keep up to date with the state of the art in technology

  • Unit-testing code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability

  • Work with outside data sources and APIs

It will make connectivity work every single time, in any environment, for every user, at the lowest possible cost without compromising on quality, security and privacy.

  • Drive seamless E2E Connectivity and IoMT concepts and solutions in line with HSRA

  • Develop low cost BLE and Wi-Fi reference designs

  • Innovate on cellular technologies for IoMT use cases (PH & HS)

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

Skills :

  • B.E in Computer Science / Software Engineering

  • At least 3 years of experience in developing Java and Kotlin applications

  • Strong technical skills

  • Shown success and consistent demonstration of commitment to deliver on major releases.

  • Experience in working in multi-site environment

  • Experience in development using Agile practices

  • Exercised exemplary development practices including design specification, coding standards, unit testing, and code reviews.

  • Experience in Continuous integration

  • Willingness to "go the extra mile" when needed

  • Communication skills: excellent oral and written skills

  • Self-starter and quick learner and ability to work in a global team setting with minimal supervision

  • Highly productive and flexible to take additional responsibilities.

  • Should be a good team player
