Philips Software Technologist I/II - Scrum Master in Bangalore, India

Responsibilities and Key Result Areas:

  • Serves the role of Scrum Master as defined in the Scrum Guide

  • Accountable for planning, preparation, and execution of Program Increments (PI)

  • Accountable for timely delivery and quality of Agile Release Train (ART) deliverables

  • Ensures readiness for program increment planning, vision, groomed backlogs, and needed logistics

  • Facilitates Scrum events and ensures necessary preparation work is completed in advance to create efficient, engaging, and productive events

  • Participates in product release core team and program team as needed to ensure alignment between the different teams and functions

  • Attends project update meetings, milestone review meetings, and process improvement meetings

  • Supports Product Manager and Product Owners in managing the backlogs for the PI

  • Represents Engineering function in project audits along with Release manager

  • Interacts with and provides insights and regular updates to BIU senior management

  • Drives execution of program Increment and program-level continuous improvement

  • Guides the team and organization on how to use SAFe Agile/Scrum practices and values

  • Assesses the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization, and coach the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization

  • Assists with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information

  • Removes impediments for the team with tenacity and urgency

  • Resolves team conflicts and coach the team in positive behaviors

  • Monitors team activity and progress against sprint goals

  • Manages artifacts in the development tool

  • Leads retrospectives, capture minutes/actions and circulate

  • Captures sprint metrics for monitoring team performance

  • Provides input and support to the various SAFe events

  • A thorough understanding of SAFe Agile methodologies and metrics

  • Tremendous organization, verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work across time-zones and cross-functional teams

  • Solid interpersonal skills and plays extremely well with others

  • Passion around facilitation, empowerment and collaborative leadership

  • Strong experience with Agile Lifecycle Management Tools (TFS)

Experience:

  • 6-8 years of professional experience working in a software development organization

  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches/techniques: XP, Kanban, SAFe, TDD/BDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment

  • Previous experience in leadership roles
