RDT was already a world leader in the area of remote vital signs monitoring. The company’s products are medical monitoring devices used in remote locations, including: Military, pre-hospital, aircraft/in-flight, yachts, and other. This job, within the technical team, is an engineering role to assist the company in its development of new products as well as working to maintain the design of the existing product line.
You are responsible for:
focusing on the measurement, management, and improvement of quality performance by RDT’s key suppliers. This role will work closely on a daily and weekly basis with RDT’s supply chain management function and Quality Management team (including for example: Quality Manager, Director of Quality & Regulatory Affairs, Operations Director, Purchasing Manager) as required to perform the activities necessary to closely manage and improve the quality performance of RDT’s key suppliers in line with RDT’s quality management system.
Directly support the management of quality from RDT’s key suppliers. To include:
Collate and analyse nonconforming product data to provide trending analysis on quality issues and performance metrics related to key RDT suppliers
Work closely with colleagues and key suppliers to establish and document root-causes for supplied non-conformances/defects and identify actions to contain, correct and prevent these issues from reoccurring. Monitoring these actions through implementation and recording the measurable improvements that follow
Maintain and build strong supplier relationships to facilitate collaborative improvements in supplier quality and supplier product quality standards
Provide trend analysis on key supplier quality issues and maintain associated supplier performance metrics in support of business weekly and monthly operational reporting
Lead or particulate in supplier audit activities where required, in support of RDT’s wider QMS processes
Analyse and review RDT contract manufacturer or supplier internal yield data to support efforts to improve supplier internal quality and manufacturing yields. This may include review of procedures, work instructions, inspection documents, bills of materials, drawings, calculations, specifications and other design inputs/outputs if required
Support the preparation, review and issue of procedures, instructions, and other quality documentation required by the quality system which relates to key suppliers

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
Experience in quality engineering of whole/finished electromechanical devices
Experience of PCB/PCA manufacturing and fault finding
Experience of electronic device manufacturing
Experience in managing supplier quality and performance perspective i.e. providing quality objectives to supplier and ensuring they deliver as specified.
Experience in fault finding/investigation, to establish and document root-causes for identified issues and to identify corrective changes required
An aptitude for working with supplier/customer technical staff and occasional national or international travel
Hands-on experience of working to and implementing procedural changes to better meet the requirements of ISO13485 or equivalent

The salary is in the region of £50k but we could pay more.
