In this role, you have the opportunity to

Provides overall technical support to internal and external customers on IGT-D systems. Responds to technical calls and emails by providing answers to questions, troubleshooting guidance, and follow up to reported problems. Plans and executes System Installations.

You are responsible for

  • Provides technical assistance to all customers (which may include end users, IGT-D field sales and service employees, distributors, and third party service providers) for Volcano products. During a scheduled time, responds to inquiries received via telephone, email, or other written forms. Answers questions, analyzes problems, determines course of action to correct problem reported and ensures action is taken.

  • Organizes and executes new installations together with other parties

  • Documents all service activities and complaints in database. Must recognize complaints and potential safety complaints and handle according to procedures. Follows up on opened cases to close out the case and ensures that customer is satisfied.

  • Assist with technical service training as needed.

  • Provides technical input and review to service manuals, bulletins, and other technical documentation as needed.

  • As necessary, performs other duties as required.

You are a part of

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

EDUCATION:

  • Min Bachelor degree in Electronic or Mechanical Technology, or equivalent training and/or experience in electronics or a related technical field

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires 3+ years experience in electromechanical/electronic system troubleshooting

  • Solid understanding of technical components including equipment, concepts and procedures

  • Knowledge of computer applications (i.e.: Microsoft Word, Excel) required

  • Knowledge of proper English usage, grammar, spelling, vocabulary and of generally accepted office practices, procedures and equipment

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of imaging ultrasound principles is an advantage

ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working in the medical device field, field service experience in general preferred

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties including Company management and outside business associates

  • Strong attention to details

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment consistent with department guidelines. Selects methods and techniques for modification and repair of systems

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Ability to maintain a professional image

PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION MAKING:

  • Ability to assess a problem quickly and determine to what level it should be elevated, directing staff/customers to the correct person(s)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to hear and speak to employees and outside business associates on the phone and in person

  • Ability to lift and push/pull up to 40 lbs

  • Ability to see the letters and numbers on a personal computer screen and on memos, reports and other documents (near vision)

  • Ability to maintain a professional image

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Some travel might happen up to 40% of the time.
