Our Philips Ambient Experience team participates in delivering best-in-class, hospital room and department solutions. These include connected hardware, multimedia appliances, connections to medical devices, and mobile apps. We also develop various back-end micro services that integrate with these hospitals room solutions.

You are responsible for

As Development Engineer you are responsible for leading innovation and projects developing solutions aimed at improving the patient experience within a hospital environment. You will be leading a small multi-disciplinary team of highly skilled business and technical experts, from ideation phase until introduction at customer site. Besides the role as project manager you will, as member of the Ambient Experience development team, be on a regular basis participating in activities such as product maintenance and component replacements (selecting, testing and releasing of new components due to part obsolescence).

For this vacancy, we are looking for a candidate with a strong background in engineering but who has started his/her transition towards project management.

  • Develop system solutions that fit the HES portfolio (Projection and display devices, lighting and user interfaces);

  • Leading small multi-disciplinary projects consisting of a mix of experts with technical skills as well as business, marketing, quality and regulatory skills;

  • Take care of the Q&R product and process requirements (approbation & process flow)

  • Monitor and control the work performed and guard the quality of the deliverables during required corrective actions and agreed changes

  • Manage stakeholder’s interests (including suppliers);

  • Performing the planned and unplanned maintenance/part obsolescence actions of our existing product portfolio;

  • Supporting our Customer Service with investigating and solving field reported problem, design and implement corrective actions to avoid these issues from happening again.

You are a part of

An innovative and entrepreneurial team consisting of approximately 12 colleagues who collaborate closely with colleagues from design and marketing. Our team works according to Agile principles, growing to the Safe (Scaled Agile Framework) processes.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • A Bachelor or Master degree in engineering (preference combination of mechanical & electronics);

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in research and development engineering environment dealing with vague requirements, in an agile multi-disciplinary team;

  • Strong technical skills in mechanics and or electronics;

  • Experience in implementing Quality & Regulatory requirements as well approbation in products;

  • Experience with the following knowledge area’s a pre, e.g.

  • Radio Frequency design (Radio

  • Lighting design

  • Familiarity with Philips Image Guided Therapy and or Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) Business
