Philips Intern- Artificial Intelligence/ Deep Learning in Best, Netherlands

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Step into the shoes of a Researcher. It will be your research assignment to exploit the possibilities to use Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Deep Learning (DL) to perform spatial de-noising on x-ray images. Target is to assess the feasibility to replace currently used, state-of-the-art, spatial de-noising algorithm, with a solution based on AI/DL, with the aim to reduce computational load.

You are responsible for

  • Delivering a spatial de-noising algorithm for x-ray images that gives equal or better image quality but at lower computational load

  • Delivering a report that explains the advantages and drawbacks of the AI/DL approach for spatial de-noising

You are a part of

You will be part of the Mobile Surgery Advanced Development team – a group of 15 technical professionals specialized in mechanics, electrical, system testing & integration as well as software development. The team is part of the Research & Development organization of the Business Innovation Unit Image Guided Therapy Systems (BiU IGT-S) in Best, The Netherlands. The mission of this team is to bring innovations to mobile surgery products - for example through creation and testing of prototypes in a clinical environment – being subsequently handed-over to product development.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Currently engaged in Masters/Bachelor degree in Informatics, Medical Image Analysis or Computational Physic s;

  • Proven experience in programming on windows based platforms;

  • Strong affinity with Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning

  • Ability to technically interact with an innovation study team and explain your work about Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning

  • Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and in face-to-face conversations in English.
