Philips Manager Public Private Partnerships - IGT Systems Innovation in Best, Netherlands


In this role, you have the opportunity to

Develop and maintain Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) for Innovation at Philips Image Guided Therapy – Systems (IGT-S). You will build relationships with other companies, universities and knowledge institutes with the aim to identify common areas of interest for collaborative research and development. This entails identifying and mapping of own Innovation activities to the different programs and roadmaps of funding organizations to optimize funding opportunities for Philips IGT-S beyond the state-of-art.

You are responsible for

Define and maintain the funding program for IGT-S Innovation. For this, you will:

  • Lead the Philips IGT-S Innovation funding activities internally and externally

  • Act as a primary subject matter expert and point of contact for the organization

  • Work together with innovation manager to generate ideas

  • Drive an outside in view by organizing events with technology and business experts

  • Realize a continuous inflow of funded projects/opportunities

  • Align internal development needs on capabilities of external partners

  • Mobilize these partners into a strong consortium

  • Keep up to date with agenda and directions of the different departments within the IGT-s organization

  • Write and submit Project Proposals

  • Manage resources of PPP accepted projects

  • Manage internal and external stakeholders

  • Scout trends and new opportunities of funding opportunities

  • Represent Philips’ vision by presenting on conferences, events and towards public organizations such as the European Commission

You are a part of

Within Philips Healthcare in Best, the IGT Systems Innovation is responsible for ideation, (clinical) validation and prototyping new products and services for Image Guided Therapy Systems, Services and Solutions mainly used in the area of cardiac and vascular medical diagnosis and intervention. The customers are hospitals and their medical specialists.

You will be member of the Innovation, Clinical science & iBD department. Together with another public private partnership manager, you will report to the Manager Innovation. Your main contacts are the Innovation Management Team, Cross – Business Working Group Public- Private Partnerships, R&D Managers, Program Managers, Innovation Managers and Architects.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor or Master degree in a technical domain

  • Proven track record in product development of medical systems

  • Entrepreneurial mindset

  • Innovation management experience

  • Good insights in a wide range of technologies

  • Experienced in project management

  • Good communication and presentation skills (ability to communicate with internal stakeholders and external partners)

  • Excellent analytical and conceptual skills

  • Decisive, result driven and creative team player

  • The ability to influence stakeholders on multiple levels

  • Work autonomously

  • Organizing conferences and workshops

  • Technical presentations

  • Excellent communication skills. Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required

  • You should have the ability and affinity to work in an international environment (mainly European) with people of different backgrounds and interests

  • Travelling is part of the job
