You are responsible for
Philips I(mage) G(uided) T(herapy)-Devices is looking for a combined software manager and release train engineer. The successful candidate will be developing a team of highly educated and highly motivated software developers and should be able to act as a Release Train Engineer (RTE) following the Scaled Agile Framework.
Key areas of responsibility:
Develops people, processes and ways of working to achieve operational / functional excellence to deliver consistently and in the most efficient way
Manages and monitors budgets of resources, tools and training. Conducts resources portfolio management
Ensures compliance with product lifecycle and software development procedures and processes as well as all applicable quality and regulatory requirements
Content-wise encourages and contributes to cross-organizational strategy and project teams working on innovation themes and breakthroughs
Ensures appropriate personnel management practices regarding recruitment and selection, adequate resource allocation / resource portfolio management, remuneration, performance appraisals, people development and change management
Responsible for RTE activities: like driving the release train, PI planning sessions, scrum of scrums, creating / updating metrics on a bi-weekly basis.
Is responsible for partner / third party management
Is responsible for removing impediment for the progress of the teams, and acts as escalation point e.g. for quality issues and SLAs
Establishes operational excellence / functional excellence via multiple sources of initiatives
Might align with client and other stakeholders to organize work in the area of responsibility

Your local team is in Best, The Netherlands, and you will collaborate with other teams globally. Thereby making it a multidisciplinary international endeavor, where flexibility is key. To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Master degree in computer science or relevant technical degree;
5 years experience in managing software teams, preferably in high-tech medical devices;
2+ years of experience as RTE or experience of managing multiple scrum teams with good understanding of SAFe
Familiar with advanced development, product development and life cycle management processes, preferably for software medical devices;
Building and maintaining strong software competencies and quality;
Empowering continuous improvement;
Strong in removing impediments;
Strong in collaboration with a broad variety of stakeholders;
Proven track-record of deploying strategic software initiatives.
