Philips Supplier Account Manager - Software in Best, Netherlands


In this role, you have the opportunity to

manage a global scope of supply base supporting Philips’ innovative technologies.

You will co-develop and coordinate the key commodity strategies within the Software BoM (Bill-of-Materials) & Embedded Services procurement where applicable; and will be accountable for Total Cost of Ownership including material costs, long term assurance of supply, supplier performance and selection and procurement information/data management.

You will also have full accountability for BOM material and services cost, long term assurance of supply, supplier performance and selection and supply management information/data management, providing support and guidance to relevant procurement peers, building of supply market intelligence to support business and or market decisions.

You are responsible for

  • Co-developing, maintaining and executing commodity strategies for the assigned supplier portfolio/sub commodity.

  • Relentlessly driving bottom and top-line impact through optimum Sourcing footprint and Supply Base design

  • Supplier evaluation and management within the assigned scope.

  • Identifying Supplier capabilities, performance and technologies by conducting competitive assessments and benchmarking of existing and potential suppliers.

  • Ensuring effective communication and representation of Commodity strategy, programs and performance to all key-stakeholders.

  • Leading strategic contract and price negotiations for assigned supplier portfolio, including gathering relevant benchmark data, supplier market intelligence.

  • Leading cross-functional teams to program manage execution of Supply Base change projects via funnel and Source2Contract RfX event management.

  • Contract management within the assigned scope (develop, maintain and execute).

  • Ensuring related risks are controlled and mitigated including Q&R compliancy for all new supplier deployment as relevant.

You are a part of

a global commodity team consisting of Supplier Account Managers (SAMs), continuously interfacing with innovative technologies and companies. You will frequently interface with R&D, CAO, Procurement Engineering, Product Marketing, Quality & Regulatory, Legal and Operations.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a relevant discipline

  • At least 5 years knowledge and experience in procurement, with preference to OEM/3rd party software vendor experience

  • Good understanding of technology, supply base for both OEM & Embedded Software/Services

  • Solid understanding of Licensing and IP aspects is a bonus

  • Experience in a production environment (medical/FDA regulated preferred)

  • Comfortable working with R&D Engineering, Marketing, Quality & Regulatory, Legal and Operations
