You are responsible for
You'll contribute to our intravascular imaging and functional measurement consoles. The R&D console team is responsible for all enabling hardware in between the disposable catheter/wire on one hand and the output on the screen on the other hand. The team’s main goal is to de-risk technical designs in an early stage and demonstrate this with early prototypes and mature them all the way to releasing and maintaining reliable products.
The successful candidate can deliver high quality designs within project timelines and considering the medical device compliance.
Working with a diverse team of highly capable engineers (software and hardware) and multi-functional team-members, the candidate must be able to:
Show technical leadership and responsible for realization of full systems product release/life cycle management to ensure quality and compliance.
Translation of user and business requirements into product requirements, high level product design, check and optimize integration and verification
System decomposition and allocation of derived requirements down to HW/SW element and part level and related traceability.
Trade-off of product/system design specifications and interfaces determine feasibility of potential solutions, and leading technical & design reviews.
Managing complexity of products or systems in multi-disciplinary setting, within scope of a single business.
Leads and influences others and drives design for quality and is closely involved in the program of the applicable business.
Makes a fundamental contribution to the innovation of products or processes.
Solves fundamental problems based on detailed (outstanding) knowledge in the professional field.
Solves technical problems that have never been encountered previously in the organization.
Generates initiatives about technological improvements and performs future-oriented studies in dialogue with other specialists.
Drives design for quality.
Contributes to the innovation process and communicates new insights to own business.
Specialist in business and solves complex problems, where responsible for the overall concept at systems level.
Draws up design requirements and produces specifications for the product.
Draws up schedules and assigns parts projects to members of staff. Gives them technical guidance.
Ensures aftercare of projects.
You are a part of
Philips IGT-Devices, a Philips business, is a global leader in physiology and intravascular imaging for coronary and peripheral applications. This is part of Philip’s industry leading solutions to help clinicians to decide, guide, treat and confirm the right therapy for each patient in real-time during image-guided therapies (IGT).
You will be part of an international team.
The advanced development activities are in Best, The Netherlands, but alignment with the R&D consoles departments in California and other partners, like Philips Design and Philips Research.
As Systems Engineer IGT-D, you will report into the Advanced Development Group Leader.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following education and experience:
Master’s degree or equivalent in Engineering and/or business discipline or alike experience;
5+ years of relevant experience in professional engineering with demonstrated technical leadership skills;
Experience in the use of system engineering tools such as use scenarios, context/interface diagrams, functional system modeling, FMEAs, QFD and DfR (Design for Reliability) tools.
Experience with requirements management tools. DOORs and Integrity experience is preferred;
Familiarity with Medical Development regulations as in FDA 21 CFR part 820, ISO 13485, ISO 14791, The Medical Device Directive, Safety as in EN60601-1 and EMC as in EN60601-1-2 and subordinate regulations.
