Philips Development Project Engineer in Bothell, Washington


In this role, you have the opportunity to

Bring new to the world innovations to the market to expand the product portfolio and realize business growth for Philips Oral Healthcare (Sonicare & Zoom)

You are responsible for

  • Manage/Lead the development of mechanical and electro-mechanical of Oral Healthcare products with external outsourcing suppliers.

  • Effectively work with outsourcing suppliers, including product/part/module level development, ensure proper project documentation and resolving technical issues.

  • Develop and maintain detailed work package plans and schedules, including effective management of work packages scope, requirements, schedule, cost, and risk/contingency plans with external outsourcing suppliers.

  • Effectively manage project work in alignment with internal processes, including completion of associated process documentation deliverable.

  • Successfully work through complex issues with cross-functional team members and external outsourcing suppliers and drive effective resolution.

  • Provide timely project status reports and other communications stakeholders.

You are a part of

The Development Project Engineer is a member of a 30 people Product Design team reporting into the large R&D group in Oral Healthcare. New products are developed by cross-functional project teams that have a broad range of work experience, culture and industries. They are empowered and driven to work together to deliver new innovations that matter.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Completed Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience or Masters in Mechanical Engineering and at least 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience in requirement development and flow down

  • Understanding of and interest in electro-mechanical and physical principles

  • Knowledge of good design practices and experienced.

  • Able to lead and review mechanical engineering design and analyses.

  • Experience in outsourcing development model, work with supplies on technical details to succeed project goals

  • Experience in product design for mass manufacturing, for example, design for plastic parts for injection molding, sheet metal, MIM, decoration method such as painting, vacuum materialization

  • Experience in regulated devices design and development

  • Good technical communication skills including presentations and written documentation.

  • Practical CAD experience, Creo 3.0 preferred.

  • Able to work flexible hours for technical communication with global suppliers.

  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment

  • Excellent problem solving skills

  • Critical eye to detail
