In this role, you have the opportunity to
be a strategic advisor in IP matters to Philips Oral Healthcare business and research organizations. You will help to shape and contribute to building our IP portfolio focusing on innovations in the oral healthcare field and other related technologies including information technology (software, cloud services, databases, mobile apps, and control solutions).
Provide optimal protection to the business, and contribute value to Philips Oral Healthcare business by capturing value from that portfolio.
Manage third-party IP risks, and when needed, seek to get access to third-party IP at the lowest cost possible for Philips’ products and services.
Also handle IP matters in a wide range of collaborations with third parties.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of meaningful, documentable experience in IP portfolio management (e.g. training and guiding inventors to create valuable inventions, drafting and prosecuting patent, design and trademark applications, filing oppositions) IP counseling, defending IP assertions and contributing to IP litigations.
The candidate is a positive, collegial, cooperative and open team player, who enjoys rapidly changing environment and feels comfortable working with all types of IP in a global environment on projects involving professionals from around the world.
A Bachelor’s degree and technical background in electrical engineering, computer science, or physics – A master’s degree or higher is a plus
Experience in multi-jurisdictional patent portfolio management; invalidity and freedom to operate opinion work
Strong experience in dealing with soft IP such as designs and trademarks
Confidence, critical thinking and experience at multitasking
Strong professional drive
Excellent Analytical and Intellectual capabilities
Excellent relationship building, influencing and negotiating abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills to operate at all levels both internally and externally
Flexibility and adaptability to work in a multicultural environment.
