As Procurement Engineering Business Partner will lead and manage all procurement engineering activities for the global business group. This business partner understands the product context End to End and delivers business strategies including the strategic cost management vision to the commodities. This business partner owns the DfX concept and competence and ensures alignment with all other functional disciplines, market stakeholders and relevant other business entities to make this happen.
You are responsible for
Participate on the Business MT and drive Procurement strategies that meet the business and product portfolio needs
Responsible for managing the product context within procurement via DfX concept, interfacing with all other functional disciplines.
Global or regional scope Influencing > 300 million spend and related risk for assigned product portfolio.
Establishes medium term (3-5 year) procurement strategy for assigned business;
Coordinates all relevant X-functional stakeholders around assigned product portfolio;
Leads all Procurement Engineering activity
Meets all BIU related Procurement Objectives/KPI’s
Achieves product cost reduction through value engineering/DfX and supply chain optimization in the BIU
Acts as interface to the Commodity Cluster Leaders
Ensures BG relevant spend volume will be managed through the DfX concept
Responsible for talent management of the procurement Engineering function across the Business Group
Demonstrate leadership and vision to support the organizational BIU objectives
Ensures that BIU Procurement Engineering related risks are controlled and mitigated;
Builds and secures manufacturing capabilities and capacity at 3rd party
Defines procurement requirements and business drivers for supply strategy for in/outsourcing and components in x-fctl collaboration;
Consolidates and defines BG requirements for procurement strategy
Aligns Product & Technology Roadmaps with suppliers
Ensures early supplier involvement in Product Design Process
Manages the link between the new product introduction process with supplier selection
Secures S&OP linkage to component availability
Ensures development of cost & quality roadmaps & linkage to margin management
Manages development of Target Cost model of products
Manages standardization & complexity reduction (concept improvement)
You are a part of
The Procurement Engineering Business Partner is member of the business management team and ensures that all the business leaders can access all Procurement activities, including Commodity Management teams . The Procurement Engineering Business Partner ensures early involvement in the NPI process to drive cost, quality and functionality improvement. This team also insures the involvement of all relevant Commodity Management teams in I2M process. In addition, this position is responsible and accountable for the quality and business compliance of procurement processes and activities within the Business Group.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline (eg Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent); Master's desired
Professional with at least 8 + years proven track record in aligned discipline
Previous experience in R&D, product development and/or operations
Previous experience in supplier management and/or development
Understanding of suppliers, business models, key drivers, measures and priorities
Expert in the DfX, DFSS, DMAIC, Six Sigma, and/or Lean methodology
Expert in applying cost models
Expert in applying Value Engineering processes
