In this role, you have the opportunity to
Makes a substantial contribution to the design, development and verification of algorithms. Contributes to the innovation of new products, using the latest technologies and resources.
Work with a team to develop creative and innovative medical device algorithms to improve patient care and advance the field of resuscitation and critical care science through innovative product development and research.
Develop signal processing algorithms to analyze electrocardiogram (ECG) and other waveforms for AEDs and advanced defibrillators/monitors.
Participate in the development of digital signal processing software including requirements definition, mathematical modeling, design, implementation, testing, and documentation.
Create signal processing models to solve complex signal processing requirements.
Work with research, marketing, quality, regulatory and end users to refine requirements.
Create and test products according to the specifications and software development process.
Implement verification and validation procedures for algorithms.
Create engineering documents to comply with product development policies, practices and procedures.
Create disclosures for intellectual property protection as appropriate.
Work with engineering, regulatory and marketing on innovations to advance products and features.
Contribute to external publications and conferences as appropriate.
Keep abreast of technical, application and market developments in the relevant technological and industrial areas.
Provide leadership and coaching to peers and team members.
Provide support for customer complaints and investigations for device performance.
Support company in Quality Transformation, CAPAs and audits as needed.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
BS/MS/PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, EE, ME, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 10 years experience in a medical device company, or equivalent.
Experience in software and mathematical models to design, develop and validate custom algorithms.
Working knowledge of MATLAB and good programming practices.
Good understanding of, and interest in, development of software and algorithms in a controlled regulated environment.
Ability to interface with medical professionals and leaders in the field.
Experience with ECG analysis and algorithm development preferred.
Familiarity with analog ECG acquisition hardware preferred.
