Philips Hardware Leader in Caesarea, Israel


In this role, you have the opportunity to

work with a very entrepreneurial venture organization and act in the core of our organization in the further development of our products, as the leader of the hardware development team.

You are responsible to

  • Own the entire hardware development of EPD Solutions

  • Manage a small team (3-5 fte) of electrical hardware developers to define, develop, and deploy projects which support the EPD Solutions roadmap, focusing on analog and digital design (PCB and FPGA), and hardware related maintenance of the installed base

  • Contribute to architecture, specification, design, and testing, all in support of product releases which meet customer needs, implementations which satisfy cost goals, and coordination activities which deliver projects on-time and on-target

  • Develop skills and improve effectiveness of engineers of the team. Ensure communication is occurring both within the team as well as to other engineering teams

  • Perform functional management tasks including budgeting, performance appraisal, salary administration, hiring, and employee coaching and performance management

  • Make the connections to software development, systems engineering and V&V for successful product release

  • Keep abreast of the developments and trends in the EP and hardware domain and providing the Management Team with input on strategic decisions

  • Cooperate with relevant parties outside of the hardware department. Works across the borders of the own department – e.g formulate strategies or project proposals across department

You are a part of

Philips EPD Solutions, a recently acquired venture with ambitious plans for growth, developing a disruptive technology, which will improve the efficiency and efficacy of life-saving cardiac ablation procedures treating among others atrial fibrillation. EPD’s technology has the potential to address the key unmet need of real-time therapy assessment, which is one of the more significant limitations of the current standard of care. We aim to help to improve outcomes for millions of people and help maintain the rapidly rising cost of managing the disease. Having obtained CE mark in 2018, we are preparing for a commercial product launch in Europe, US and other territories and are seeking regulatory approvals around the world. You will report into the R&D Manager in Caesarea.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

  • 10+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering, preferably in electrophysiologic, catheter based solutions

  • 5+ years of proven successful technical management and/or people leadership experience

  • Experience in leading a multi-disciplinary development organization (system engineering, SW, HW, Verification & Validation) is a plus

  • Extensive experience with analog PCB design and FPGA, familiar with E-CAD tools, such as Orcad, Pspice and LTspice

  • Thorough understanding of lab equipment (Spectrum analyzer, VNA, Scopes)

  • Experience in deploying hardware development methodologies

  • Strong configuration management skills and familiarity with design control processes

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to execute on multiple priorities in a fast paced environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Willingness to travel frequently (25%)
