In this role, you have the opportunity to:
Lead the General Care solutions group (Spotcheck monitors (incl. Suresigns and MP5SC), Guardian, CSV) within the General and Specialty Care BU. You will be responsible with making sure the global General Care Solutions strategy is redefined and aligned with the broader General and Specialty Care Strategy.
The Business Leader will drive the identification, understanding and translation of business opportunities into a strong strategic plan that is both highly innovative and achievable. S/he will be responsible for defining and handling the budgets for the General Care Solutions team setting/hitting key breakthroughs, and driving the team’s capabilities needed to deliver.
You are responsible for:
Collaboration with key BU partners including marketing, sales, R&D, business development, and other key functions to identify and drive revenue growth from business opportunities.
You will have the responsibility for the realization of the offerings developed through the venture and the successful introduction of these products in the market(s) to support realization of business strategy.
With input from our R&D and Business Development teams, you will take the lead in analyzing the market, regulatory changes, competition, technology and developments, in order define the strategy and offerings that support the development and realization of a strong 3-5 year business plan.
As needed, you will lead the definition and execution of market research to strengthen the validity of both the portfolio and specific offerings. S/he will prepare and plan, together with the sales channels in the markets the needed efforts to drive effective market seeding, introduction and lifecycle management for a customer centric new business.
You will be responsible and lead teams in the development and execution of solution strategies and roadmaps for the General Care Solutions business.
The new business leader needs to enforce the Quality culture across General Care Solutions
Define and implement the GCS strategy, aligned with the broader General Car Solutions strategy.
Determines build or buy strategy
Creates BMC plans jointly with markets (product roadmap) and supports market launch
Partnering with Operations, Engineering and procurement to improve overall productivity and
deliver against Design for Excellence (DfX) plans
Develops and manages a "competitive" portfolio
Executes I2M strategy in the business
Ensures Quality Compliance for site and solutions
Develops a leading Market share and brand preference
Drive multi-generational product and technology planning & prioritization.
Provides guidance to the GSC BU Leader and collaborates as a key member of the Management Team
You are a part of: General Care Solutions
This role will initially be based in our Andover office. Philips will be relocating this office to a new site at Cambridge Crossing , a large development underway on the Cambridge-Somerville-Boston line. This is a very exciting time to be joining Philips, as this new location will be our largest North American R&D innovation center. The new office is set to open in early 2020.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
Master’s Degree with 15 years of experience or PhD. With 10 years of experience.
A passion for business leadership and a relentless tenacity to make it succeed
10+ years of global marketing / business experience, including direct customer facing experience and ideally including management of product development/engineering in the medical device space.
Demonstrated entrepreneurial behavior throughout of the box thinking and tenacity to find solutions to problems both within and outside the company. Creative in problem solving.
Clear understanding of customer / market insights and how product / solutions are conceived, developed, priced, and launched and managed through their lifecycle
Broad understanding of healthcare delivery operations, clinical practice and economics in all parts of the world.
Demonstrated ownership and accountability for total business performance, even when not actively managing all elements (e.g. sales)
Engaging people leadership skills with demonstrated ability to inspire high performance and develop talent.
A creative, optimistic, growth mindset.
Strong customer relations and technology understanding. The ability to credibly speak about the technology, applications, clinical and economic outcomes with medical and business stakeholders and represent the business at customers and industry events
Demonstrated partnership qualities and experience working collaboratively in matrix organizations
Experience leading global, cross functional teams
Fluency in business and financial planning and value-based management
Ability to balance the attention of growth spending: between extensions and new platforms, between segments, geographies, etc.
Passion for and knowledge of quality and regulatory requirements and of how to embed quality and compliance across the entire product/solutions lifecycle. Experience with FDA, PMA and other medical device regulatory requirements
Drive for continuous improvement and capability building
