In this role, you have the opportunity to
Bring your knowledge, experience and leadership in the biomedical informatics research area and your passion for changing lives to develop innovative solutions in support of healthcare on a global level. Work on first-of-kind tools that combine clinical and genomic data analysis to transform infection prevention.
You are responsible for
Providing expertise in data analytics, algorithm implementation, and/or computational biology.
Developing, implementing and testing new algorithms for the genomic analysis and clinical interpretation of infectious disease samples.
Developing novel algorithms, prototypes and features that will enhance our IntelliSpace Epidemiology platform.
Work with other teams within the Genomics for Infectious Disease unit to drive productization of these ideas.
Interact with outside experts in the field and internal engineering teams.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, Computational Biology or equivalent
Experience with one or more of the following: data science, computational biology, developing novel algorithms and software frameworks, data visualization, clinical databases
Experience in bioinformatics including NGS data analysis, DNASeq/RNASeq analysis
Proficiency in Python or R, and experience with Linux and/or high-performance computing environments
Demonstrated experience with scientific algorithm development or mathematical/computational models
Ability to build code in a team environment
Experience gathering feedback from stakeholders (end users, internal) and improve solutions based on findings
Strong written and verbal communication skills
experience with medical or microbiology data analysis a plus
Agile code development a plus
experience with versioning tools (e.g. Git) a plus
