As a Senior Consultant in the Philips Innovation Services US Innovation Hub, your challenge is to create and handle new customer relationships and lead projects to support Philips businesses in identifying and building innovative business. You know innovation and development inside out as well as areas of marketing and operations providing a holistic view. You will build and support new business at clients through new value propositions, new business models and work on innovation strategy, road mapping, and portfolio management. You will also enhance innovation processes taking a business perspective and an End-to-End approach.
As a Senior Consultant you:
actively leverage your existing network and develop and maintain senior management and executive level clients to pro-actively create and convert new opportunities
cultivate and develop key customer relationships and partnerships
acquire work for several consultants that work in your field and identify opportunities beyond your field to sell together with colleagues that have other areas of expertise
can work alone as a senior advisor, or lead a team of consultants and client team members
actively market yourself and our consulting team through being a key-note or speaking at seminars and through articles on-line and in key publications
foresee developments in your competence area and develop new competences yourself and with colleagues
spot trends in your client industries and combine these with new competences to create new service propositions and improve our service propositions and portfolio
You’ll be part of Philips Innovation Services (PInS), an over 700-strong team of technology experts, designers, project managers and consultants who have decades of experience in supporting customers both inside and outside Philips - from major companies in sectors such as semiconductor manufacturing and healthcare to highly innovative start-ups.
You will report directly into the PInS US Hub Site Manager based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and have a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Industry Consulting group based in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. You will be a virtual member of the Industry Consulting team, which will support you in terms of shown methodologies and approaches and whose expertise and resources you will leverage in the projects you will engage on.
The Industry Consulting department is a dynamic group of approximately 70 consultants with a growth ambition. We work with leading clients in operationalizing their strategic ambitions in and across key areas of their business: Innovation and Operations Management taking an integral approach.
In PInS we support our clients in all types of innovation, be it in business models, products, services, or solutions. We work with our clients on key aspects for success: new business creation, innovation strategy, road mapping and architecture, and innovation process improvement including IT solutions for innovation, lean and open innovation. We work with all Philips businesses worldwide as well as with external companies.
We are looking for
A Master’s degree or PhD in a technical, science, business or related discipline, and an MBA.
A consulting background within a leading consulting firm
A minimum 15+years’ experience in relevant fields: innovation and development preferably in healthcare and medical technology
A consistent record of acquisition at new clients and of growing them into key relationships
A consistent record of fostering long-term multiyear relationships with continuous project engagements
Expertise in business innovation covering all aspects of innovation, be it business model, value proposition (for new products, services, and solutions), value chain, market or processes. Experience in digital innovation, the use of analytics, and innovation based on AI is key.
Experience in various industries covering product and service industries and experience with innovation in a high-tech environmen
A self-starter attitude that is motivated by building new business
Ability to gain trust, persuade, and create strong personal relationships
Fluency in English and willingness to travel up to 50%.
