Job Title: Project Leader - Research & Development - (Kitchen / Domestic) Appliances

Reports to: Head Projects – Personal Health
The incumbent will be a part of Personal Health systems. It focuses on the development of medically and non-medically endorsed lifestyle products. The incumbent will be end-to-end responsible for the development and realization of new propositions, yet focusing on the upfront consumer driven concept development. It manages the realization via other sites and partners.

The Incumbent will participate in the assignment preparation for the new product creation/project leading to the Concept Start milestone, co-define the product scope & strategy with the product planner.
The incumbent will be responsible for End-to-End managing of a project to develop a product, technology, system, solutions, services or IT solution.
He / She will be responsible from the initial start until the introduction in the Market or until internal company delivery.
The incumbent will be responsible for gaining agreements on and achieving project objectives, balancing schedule, cost , quality and requirements. Ensuring effective introduction of products, technologies, systems, solution or services.
Will be managing the scope and requirements, also the internal and external stakeholders.
Manages the business case and is a business partner focused on maximization of the added value for the business.
Manages projects ensuring execution is in line with project guidelines and directives.
Determines project risks, defines corrective action and drives the projects to closure.
Determines, allocates, and directs all project resources in accordance with guidelines.. Keeps abreast of developments in project management tools and processes (both internal and external).
Ensures Sector-wide compliance to corporate policies/rules/procedures.
The Incumbent is responsible for formulating the (sub) project plan, in consultation with management and other parties concerned on base of the requirements
Will be responsible to organize the resources to be used (quality, time, budget and information) and specifies the quality standard in the processes.
Will define the risks of the project (i.e. specs, costs, planning, etcetera) and develops scenarios to overcome these risks.
Shall direct employees and gives them operational guidance, both technically and organizationally (where necessary, directs sub-Project Leaders).
Is responsible for implementation and realization according to the project plan (specification, quality, time, money, information) and organization.
Represents the (sub)-project team in the overall project to optimize fit for use and overall effectiveness.
Reports on the progress of the project with an agreed frequency on quality, status, time, and money to senior management and to the project members.
Ensures that there is an effective transfer and archiving of the project results and the associated knowledge.
Reports on employees’ performance to the hierarchical superior of the employees for the purpose of appraisal.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Ideal profile should have a university degree in a relevant technical subject, preferably Physics, Mechanical Engineering or Bio-mechanical engineering.
A proven track record and experience (6+ yrs.) in leading international, multi-disciplinary, product development projects in a R&D environment.
Broad experience in pre-development and product development of consumer products is required, whereas experience in mass production is an advantage.
It is an advantage if you have experience in Personal care products and enabling technologies such as skin physiology, IR, ultra-sound, heating & cooling, fluid management (dosing, pumping), Liquid Silicon Rubbers, or in mechatronics and bio-mechanics.
Experience in understanding and translating consumer needs.
Experience in leading in a multi-site multi-partner development environment.
Experience in analyzing the stakeholder environment and needs to achieve common objectives, considering contradicting interests and making the best decisions for the project as well as the business. You have negotiation skills.
Experience in balancing risks and opportunities of innovative solutions.
Preferably you are familiar with Design for Six Sigma.
Creative, analytically strong and also hands-on.
A strong leader and a team player. You are an excellent communicator and motivator, skilled in managing interpersonal processes.
