In this role, you have the opportunity to
carry out, independently and according to own judgement, targeted development assignments, the broad outlines of which have already been indicated. You will also be responsible for developing parts of a new product according to technical specifications on basis of familiar technologies.

You are responsible for
Designing, developing and realizing the mechanical aspects of new products, assemblies and components.
Ensuring all design requirements are adequately met and each product complies with all relevant standards.
Helping support the sustaining group with maintaining of legacy Respiratory Drug Delivery products.
Generating, reviewing and modifing of component and assembly 2D drawings and 3D CAD to document development and define manufacture of final designs.
Ensuring that products are designed, developed, verified and validated using appropriate processes (e.g. risk management, Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), design traceability, etc) and the relevant design outputs and documentation are generated and maintained.
Ensuring designs can be effectively manufactured, with consideration of the cost, manufacturing processes, and design validation.
You are a part of
a larger engineering team (+/- 20 engineers) who focus on product development (process, design, engineering testing, validation and transfer to market).
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Minimum of 2-3 years post graduation product design and development experience.
HND or degree in a mechanical or electro mechanical engineering discipline.
Good understanding of injection moulding, materials, tolerance analysis, manufacturing, rapid prototyping, Design For X - X = manufacturability, test, service, Total Cost for Philips and customer value, assembly, flexibility, environment, recycling, etc. (DFx) and DFMEA processes.
Proficient in the use of Creo or similar 3D CAD software.
Experience in the medical devices industry would be an advantage.
