Philips Training & Education Manager China in China - Home Based, China


In this role, you have the opportunity to

Play a key role in a fast-growing Philips venture, disrupt a billion dollar industry and touch millions of lives by developing a unique medical device solution. Your challenge will be to develop and implement all Clinical Sales Training and Medical Education programs inclusive of the execution and budget management of these programs. This will include product knowledge, competitive product analysis and differentiation, sales force effectiveness for sales processes, continuing training and development of tenured sales personnel, and on-boarding of new sales and sales support personnel.

You will also lead the development of medical education programs to address the clinical and technical aspects external customers will need to appreciate to ensure safe and effective use of Philips technology. Collaborative work with Sales, Marketing, Legal, HR, Regulatory and Clinical Affairs are essential to deliver effective training and education programs.

This role offers the unique opportunity to be an entrepreneur and play a key role in a startup, under the umbrella of a larger Health Tech organization.

You are responsible for

  • Development of new hire training program inclusive of strategy, process and collateral

  • Leading In-House Sales Training programs and customer education

  • Developing and managing a training and education curriculum budget

  • Creating, implementing and maintaining sales training tools, processes and records

  • Creating, implementing and maintaining SOPs related to medical education programs

  • Conducting appropriate evaluation of sales training programs and materials related to performance, budget, processes, overall effectiveness and impact on team; incorporates conclusions from analyses into design and implementation of programs as needed

  • Assessing impact of medical education programs to ensure compliant execution of customer clinical pathway strategy

  • Partnering and collaborating with business managers to ensure alignment of training and education strategy

  • Identifying, evaluating and managing vendors to support training and education to enable them have enough qualification to support on site EPD cases and follow up

  • Establishment of goals and learning objectives, in conjunction with sales and marketing leadership, to design appropriate and effective curricula, utilizing principles of adult learning

  • Aid in cross functional training to other functional areas such as Marketing, Clinical, R&D and other Philips business units

  • If necessary, provide operation & case support to ensure EPD operation successful

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • BS/BA degree; advanced degree preferred

  • Minimum 7+ years of training experience in the electrophysiology or cardiology domain, or related

  • 4+ years of sales and/or training and education experience preferred with a proven track record of results in medical device

  • International/global experience and cultural awareness

  • Demonstrated success in building a corporate learning and development strategy from scratch

  • Extensive experience in curriculum development, as well as in depth experience in various training methodologies to ensure effective delivery of material in an adult learning environment

  • Detailed knowledge of sales training tools and potential vendor partnerships

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience with E-Learning and E-Learning software, with proven ability in effectively administering a Learning Management System (LMS)

  • Ability to flourish in a fast-paced and dynamic start-up environment

  • Strong written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to give presentations to a wide spectrum of audiences, both internally and externally

  • Ability to build strong relationships across a wide spectrum of internal and external parties including executive leadership, partners and Key Opinion Leaders

Philips EPD Solutions, a recently acquired venture with ambitious plans for growth, developing a disruptive technology, which will improve the efficiency and efficacy of life-saving cardiac ablation procedures treating among others atrial fibrillation. Over 33 million people worldwide suffer from atrial fibrillation, its management costing $26 billion per year in the US alone. Currently, up to half of all cardiac ablation procedures need to be repeated due to incomplete ablation. EPD’s technology has the potential to address the key unmet need of real-time therapy assessment, which is one of the more significant limitations of the current standard of care. We aim to help to improve outcomes for millions of people and help maintain the rapidly rising cost of managing the disease. Having obtained CE mark in 2018, we are preparing for a commercial product launch in Europe, US and Asia and are seeking regulatory approvals around the world.
