Philips Fiber Tower Operator I in Colorado Springs, Colorado

In this role, you have the opportunity to

run a large piece of equipment used to form quartz fibers used in the manufacturing of our laser catheters during our 3rd shift form 5:00pm to 5:00am.

You are responsible for

  • Having the ability to work a 12 hour night shift

  • Working at heights of up to 20 feet in hoist that meets all safety standards

  • Operating within standard operating procedures (SOPs)

  • Cleaning and maintaining your work area, properly turn off and lock out equipment when applicable

  • Troubleshoot and remedy out of tolerance conditions on equipment

  • Measure and record process parameters

  • Adhere to production schedules and report material shortages

  • Accurately document all required entries in the Lot History Record & Data Base

  • Comply with GMPs with regard to material labeling, SOPs and proper segregation of material in the production process

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the Philips Quality System

  • Ensure all training requirements are in a current status

  • Interface with teammates on problems that may have occurred during your shift

  • Provide pass down reports at end of each shift

You are a part of

a team setting as well as work independently in a cleanroom environment while performing tasks and testing of assemblies as part of the production process.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • HS diploma or equivalent

  • Associates Degree in Electronics, Military training or equivalent preferred.

  • 2+ years’ experience in a technical level position.

  • Demonstrated mechanical capability.

  • Knowledge of working in a highly regulated environment.

  • Experience following written procedures and documenting work performed.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Standard clean room environment materials and equipment including: microscope, ultrasonic cleaners, polishing machines, micrometer, tensile tester, wet saw, high temperature glass polishing equipment

  • Precision measurement equipment (micrometers)

  • Computer skills

  • Experience and ability to routinely use a microscope

  • Preferred experience using tensile testing equipment and bench top polisher

  • The ability to work 12 hour 3rd/night shift, 3 days one week and 4 the next

  • The ability to work at heights of up to 20 feet in hoist

  • Work involves standing for extended periods of time

  • Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds

  • Operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: safety glasses, masks, hearing protectors, other required PPE and follow safety practices

  • Good hand to hand and hand to eye coordination
