Philips R&D Technician II in Colorado Springs, Colorado

In this role, you have the opportunity to:

Apply your strong technical skills in the development of new medical device projects.

You are responsible for:

  • Executing build formulations, prototypes and processes for new product development as member of the Product Development Team.

  • Working with R&D management and project team members to design and implement research and product development program plans.

  • Supporting the design and execution of experimental plans and interpretation of data from the testing in evaluating and improving designs and processes

  • Managing and maintaining R&D laser fleet

  • Performing final assembly or sub-assembly of moderate to high complexity utilizing complex drawings, schematics and work instructions.

  • Performing a variety of semi-routine tasks in the final assembly, conditioning, processing and testing of complex Excimer Laser Systems to extremely close tolerances utilizing high voltages, specialized gases and precision cleaning processes.

  • Performing set-up, installation repair, alignment, calibration, modification, troubleshooting and maintenance on our laser system.

  • Developing test protocols and fabricating prototypes/models with oversight from engineers and more senior technicians

  • Assisting with analysis in interpreting and reporting test data

  • Working knowledge of Philips policies

  • Monitoring safety and cleanliness in the laboratory

  • Contributes to invention disclosure

You are a part of our dynamic New Product Development team that is developing the latest and innovative medical devices.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • 3 + years of related technical experience; technical training, degree and/or certification(s); or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Executing specific goals and tasks with a high degree of autonomy

  • Understanding of certain equipment (IDTE, 3D Printer, lnstron, metrology equipment, etc.)

  • Candidate must possess computer skills and be able to develop proficiency in Agile, and Microsoft Office products.

  • Assemble complex mechanical and electro mechanical assemblies following work instructions and or drawings.

  • Test and troubleshoot electronic circuits, instruments and mechanical assemblies on the laser system.

  • Carrying out assignments in a safe and efficient manner and ensuring work is in accordance with all established policies, procedures and safety codes.

  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) Clean and maintain work area, properly turn off and lock out equipment when applicable

  • Demonstrated ability to execute test protocols and draft associated test reports with attention to detail

  • Maintaining complete and accurate records

  • Working independently and with others as a team

  • Speaks/writes English

  • Familiarity with Solidworks (optional)
