In this role, you have the opportunity to

You will work with a talented team of product development teammates and engaging physician partners to design, develop, and launch complex cardiovascular medical devices that are used to treat patients with Coronary and Peripheral Cardiovascular Diseases. Our mission is to Save Every Limb, Restore Every Vessel.

You are responsible for

  • A solid technical understanding of mechanical systems and the basic toolset for mechanical design, including statics, dynamics, material science for metals and plastics applicable to medical devices

  • Designs new product or generational changes to existing product given clinical / user input requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of product development process: concept through commercialization

  • Produces prototypes for evaluation, development, and test, which may include assembly and machining

  • Works with vendors on component design and fabrication

  • Generates invention disclosures for new design concepts

  • Develops and executes engineering studies, analyzes data, provides recommendations

  • Working understand of electrical and mechanical systems

  • Strong Design Control and documentation skills

  • Ability to read and understand drawings, schematics, and data

  • CAD proficiency in creating both solid models and finished drawings – SolidWorks preferred

  • Ability to develop test methods and protocols, conduct hands-on testing, analyze the data, and write test reports

  • Planning, developing, and executing product level verification and validation testing

  • Global regulatory submissions for new products and product line extension

  • Product use and design risk assessments

  • Proactively identify opportunities and continuously improve internal engineering test and reliability best practices

  • Building key relationships with customers relating to their project(s)

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineer, MS preferred.

  • Demonstrated communications skills to enable effective contribution as a member of a multi-functional team is essential

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in product development

  • Experience leading a team of engineers through product development and design

  • Experience in a regulated industry required (medical device development experience along with a solid working knowledge of FDA Quality System Regulations and ISO 13485, and ISO 60601 preferred)

  • Experience with medical devices preferred

  • Experience designing medical catheters and/or fiber-optic based catheters desired

  • Development of hand-held electro-mechanical disposable products desired

  • Proficient with use of statistic principles for data analysis – JMP or Minitab preferred
