Philips Business Marketing & Sales Leader, Precision Diagnosis in Copenhagen, Denmark

Currently we have the opportunity for a dynamic Business Marketing & Sales (BMS) Leader to join our team in and be responsible for the Precision Diagnosis (PD) business in the Nordic Market. This business includes several key areas such the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Diagnostic imaging and Ultrasound portfolios. Precision Diagnosis is one of the largest business areas of Philips Nordics and a strategic priority for the market. Philips Nordics includes Sweden, Denmark, Norway as well as Finland and Iceland.

In this role you will champion Philips’ growth and entrepreneurship in the Nordic countries for our PD portfolio. You will own the commercial success of the PD portfolio in the local markets and co-own the P&L for the respective business cluster in the market. You will be working with the Head of Marketing to ensure alignment of strategic plans where relevant and to ensure that the market potential is optimally utilized. You will be responsible for sales growth by developing and utilizing the mix of offline and online channels. Together with the Market Leader for the Nordics, you will strengthen the market organizations and doing the Business Marketing & Communication (BMC) handshakes with the business units. You will lead the PD Business Marketing Manager, Clinical Application Specialists and the Nordic Clinical Science and Education team with two leaders reporting to you. You will ensure local insights and support for strategic marketing planning as well as new product introductions and launch readiness. You will drive customer satisfaction by proper understanding of market evolution and providing the winning sales propositions, based on local needs, followed by optimized product portfolio.

The BMS Leader champions Philips compliance with General Business Principles in the market place.

Daily demonstration of the highest level of Philips Leadership competencies and behaviors is a must.

The role will be located in one of the Nordic capitals (Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki or Oslo)

You will report to the Market Leader, Nordics.

You are responsible for:

Driving the Portfolio and Business Strategy in the Market:

  • Contributing in the Market strategy process aligned with the annual cycle. The strategy is translated into clear targets, capacity and investments are made available to achieve those targets. Based on strategic plans (SPORs), invests and arranges appropriate and affordable capabilities for the Markets

  • Developing and executing a market growth plan in close partnership with the global businesses, including and not limited to:

  • Develop and implement sales account strategies in cooperation with the Key Account Managers to meet financial objectives.

  • Provide market information such as current trends, sales techniques, application of PD solutions along the health continuum for their Market to the Business Cluster.

  • Engage in continuous dialogues with the global businesses related to performance, forecasts, market trends, competition, and growth opportunities.

  • Drive the go-to-market, leveraging partners and exploring alternative business models with customers.

Leadership:

  • Leading the PD dedicated team by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.

  • Activate the entire local markets commercial organization in selling/position your portfolio towards customers.

  • Develop and maintain a close partnership with the service team to ensure high customer satisfaction, long term relationships, and profitability.

  • Contributes into large deals in the markets in following a hands-on and diligent approach (customer facing, building winning strategy for each deal with the Business Unit, Market-to-Order organization and the District).

Customer intimacy and Peer to Peer:

  • Develop and leverage relationships with Key Thought Leaders in the Market

  • Drive customer satisfaction by proper understanding of market evolution and providing the winning proposition

  • Work with Account team and Customer Marketing to develop funnel of C-suite opportunities.

  • Create of the launch plan and strategy on new NPIs (perfect NPIs) in line with the local Marketing Plan KPI’s

  • Order intake (OIT)

  • Price realization (PR)

  • Integral Gross Margin (IGM)

  • Integral Sales Margin (ISM)

  • Market Share (MS)

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills, knowledge and critical experience

  • University level education in the area of Business/Commerce and 10-15 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience in leading a Sales organization. Experience in managing the commercial function in a large, complex organization. This experience will include both customer and business-to-business models, preferably in a high tech environment.

  • Experience in change management, as it relates to the culture and mind set of a complex organization.

  • Proven track record as (senior) leader in a large global matrix organization with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Certified LEAN Advance or other proven vast LEAN experience

  • Acts as a role-model for our Philips behaviors: Customer first, Quality & Integrity always, Team up to Win, Take Ownership to deliver fast, Eager to improve an inspire.

  • P&L management incl. revenue and margin management

  • Effective communication with C-level. Ability to build and nurture effective relationships within the matrix by developing strong cooperation with peers within the market and cross-markets.

  • Bringing people together and aligning them around common goals; leverages the power of Philips independent from organizational structures and reports.

  • Competencies in managing a commercial business. Able to build and manage sales-focused organization

  • Results oriented: take personal accountability to deliver results.

  • Customer intimacy: driven by a strong external focus.

  • Problem-solving skills. Able to find solutions to difficult or complex issues. Drives continuous improvement via Lean

  • Significant marketing experience. Development of new business models (i.e. services, subscriptions) and digital, online & offline channel mix.

  • Digital: networking & collaboration, talent scouting, learning, storytelling, data driven decision making, formulating clear vision & strategy, risk taking and adaptability.
