Philips Business Developer Oncology & Nuclear Medicine in Eindhoven, Netherlands


In this role, you have the opportunity to

Initiate and create new business opportunities for Philips in the Benelux market in Radiation Oncology and Nuclear Medicine.

You drive multiple new business initiatives, gathering marketing intelligence, guiding project teams, composing value propositions and creating business models to assess the feasibility of these new opportunities. You feel challenged in a landscape of activities that ranges from conceptual thinking and financial analyses through to deal making with strategic business partners and executing new business models. You are responsible for

As Business Developer you develop sales funnels based on deep customer intelligence, engaging with customers and driving integral design of solutions and local marketing with the goal to convert leads into clients. You prepare proposals for management to get financial support to pursue new opportunities and successfully launch and support the realization of the approved business plan.

Your key areas of responsibility are:

  • Design presentations and strategies for new and existing clients.

  • Engages with customers to build and execute business funnel, closely working together with account team

  • Develops sales strategies for new opportunities and together with Sales Leader / Strategic Account Manager and Client Delivery Manager is accountable for prospecting, lead generation until solution delivery and operations (Lead-to-Contract- to-OIT-to-Revenue).

  • Orchestrate and steer (or together with the Bid Manager) the integrated customer approach for these opportunities leading to a successful closure (deal, partnership) (including applying Philips DealBoard process).

  • Develops internal / external stakeholder relationships (Key Opinion Leaders, relevant Societies, external partners or Third Party relationships) together with Sales Leader/ Strategic Key Account Managers and facilitate engagement as required through opportunity lifecycle.

  • Advises customer Decision Makers how to best realize the value of their Philips investment through innovation, implementation and productive use

  • Drive long-term partnerships with great customer experiences and customer loyalty w.r.t. the related Solution(s).

  • Drive competitive analysis, enhance portfolio and strategies against established players and new threats based on deep understanding of industry landscape incl. customer needs, trends, competition.

  • Design business models and prepare comprehensive project budgets, calculates business cases

  • Ensures that the respective Solution is covered in the BMC plans, and in account plans

  • Collaborates for scale and knowledge management:

  • Engage with Global/Market Team to develop the most relevant solutions (best practice+ local expertise )

  • Drives standardization and scalability of Solutions.

  • Drives continuous improvements applying LEAN

You are a part of

Solutions & Partnerships department. You closely collaborate with Sector Market Leaders, Sales, Marketing, and Finance functions within the market as well as Group and Sector/BG Strategy & Business Development colleagues. You strongly engage with relevant New Business Development management in other markets and other potential business partners in the market. You directly report to the Director Solutions & Partnerships. This position is full time and is located in Eindhoven, travelling within The Netherlands/ Benelux is required.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • University Master’s Degree

  • Substantial experience in business development projects with emphasis on the strategic and financial analysis

  • Clinical knowledge of Radiation Oncology and/or Nuclear medicine

  • 8+ years of experience in creating and establishing new business models and valuePropositions, preferably in healthcare

  • Experienced in executing Market Intelligence, Strategic Analysis, Value Proposition House Testing, Business Model Development, Business Case Development, Financial Analysis and Partner/ M&A Target Selection

  • A conceptual thinker

  • Proven experience in leading small strategic project teams in complex organizations

  • Experience with contractual negotiations and writing and managing strategic partnerships are preferred

  • Full business proficiency in Dutch and English, additionally French is preferred
