The consultant role is a senior professional, customer-facing role. You will be responsible for engaging hospital middle management (i.e. department heads) and executive levels in empathetic and compelling ways with commercial drive. You will be one of the direct contacts for Market Leaders, district management and account managers when a possible opportunity occurs. The aim is to enable the Markets to build and maintain customer specific solutions, which create value for the client’s business.
You are responsible for
Providing expertise in the area of hospital facility planning and specific expertise in the domain of non-Philips related medical systems, IT infrastructure and building services.
He / she will be able to deliver independent advisory assignments and perform (quick) scans to support customers (Hospitals, Construction companies) with their planning of medical technology.
The Consultant will be part of multidisciplinary design teams to provide & deliver -design, build & equip turnkey hospital and healthcare facility- solutions on time and within budget. Depending on the scope of the project the consultant will support the project team with Medical Functionality, Space/Volume Planning, Medical Equipment Planning & Specification. He / She will be able to coordinate with design partners. The consultant provides internal and external customers with advice,
Together with the wider HI&PS team the consultant is a major contributor for developing the solutions and consultancy portfolio.
The consultant will actively be involved in the integration within Philips of the HIPS software tool as well as the further enhancement and improvement of this IT-tool.
Delivering (pre-sales) consultancy activities for selected HI&PS opportunities with nominated accounts
Making and deploying consultancy plans for the Market in relationship with HI&PS projects
Successful closure of customer opportunities
Delivering independent advisory assignments
Supporting the director HI&PS in the development of the market´s HI&PS strategy and development of new solutions
Developing and implementing training for the sales force on relevant Hospital Planning topics
(Co-) developing new propositions for the Enhancement of the HI&PS IT-Tool and the HI&PS solutions portfolio

The Hospital Integration & Planning Solutions (HI&PS) group supports Philips Markets globally with acquisition and realization of Large Integrated Hospital projects.
HI&PS supports Philips teams around the world to provide & deliver design, build & equip turnkey hospital and healthcare facility solutions.
The group focuses on the hospital & healthcare facility functional planning, equipment room to room scheduling, 3rd party medical equipment & non-medical equipment specifications, budgets, quotations and advising on construction related activities. The HI&PS group is part of Hospital Transformation Solutions (HTS) and collaborates closely with Strategic Design (3rd party) Procurement and Solutions teams in the market
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Master Degree level education or equivalent, a Hospital biomedical/ engineering education or clinical education with a high interest in engineering is preferred
Experience in working within a hospital environment is required (f.e. Radiology, Cardiology, Oncology), working experience in a Hospital Department would be preferred
Experience/knowledge of global healthcare delivery systems & facilities would be preferred
Experience in leading and coordinating with design partners
Solution sales (Professional Services, IT services, Financial Services or Outsourcing) is a plus
Experience with working in a cross functional team within an international matrix organization
Able to act on Board of Management level (BoM)
Able to strongly relate to Hospital professionals at all levels
Strong Consultative selling skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Good understanding of how Hospitals are managed and processes within a hospital
Established network in the market preferred
Analytical, experience in making business plans, proven strategic mindset
Language requirement: mother tongue local language, fluent in English. Mastery of another language is a plus.
Demonstrated skill in production of reports.
Project management skills (prince 2, six Sigma)
Self-starter with drive, determination and focus
Easily connecting to all-levels of Customers, Third Parties and within Philips
Effective communicator to Customers and to different levels of the Healthcare organization
