As consultant you develop and maintain a network of customers. You act as a sparring partner on managerial level, translating business needs and opportunities into specific solutions that bring value to the customer. You are hands on and implement sustainable results at clients location. You are based in Eindhoven but willing to travel world wide.

You are able to work

The projects are executed mainly for customers in health care & manufacturing businesses, and are related to (product-/process-) quality control / quality improvement, and to Quality & Reliability Aspect System. Activities include ao.: (1) working in alignment with Business Excellence Managers to identify and translate internal customer wants and needs into actionable improvement opportunities; (2) charter and lead aligned, prioritized and significant business improvement projects using established Business Excellence methodologies such as PDCA, Kaizen events, SPC, Shainin, DfSS; (3) run training programs (eg. Statistical Engineering (SE / Shainin) workshops for engineers; either in the field of quality or reliability.

In Operations Management we define and improve operations across the entire product life-cycle. We support our clients in all types of operational challenges, like industrializations of new products, operational excellence, and overall change and project management. We work with all Philips businesses worldwide as well as with non-Philips companies.

Your challenge

As Consultant Operations Management, you contribute to improving the integral product and process quality of clients. You consult on new product development projects, from concept to launch. You apply and embed pro-active methodologies to design-in quality and you apply problem solving techniques to control quality. You have the ability to motivate and guide change.

Your responsibilities

As a Consultant you:

  • develop and maintain a network of clients

  • develop commercial leads and ensure that they are turned into signed contracts

  • act as a partner on managerial level, translating business needs into customer solutions

  • act hands-on and implement sustainable results at clients’ location

  • manage stakeholders at all levels

  • lead cross-functional improvement projects

  • master the latest business excellence methodologies such as Lean and 6 Sigma (DFSS and/or DMAIC)

  • share those best practices with clients and colleagues

  • develop and run training programs, facilitate client workshops

We are looking for

  • a seasoned professional with 10-15 years of field experience in operational roles

  • (Management) Consulting experience is an advantage

  • Experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams

  • a University Master’s degree in a technical, science, business or related discipline, MBA is a plus

  • a certified (Master) Black Belt in Lean and 6 Sigma (DMAIC and/or DFSS)

  • experience and track record in automotive industry and/or healthcare industry are preferred

  • a team player full of conviction with an infectious enthusiasm for his work

  • candidates that have the ability to gain trust and make impact

  • excellent presentation and communication skills, and fluency in English

  • willingness to travel up to 25- 50 %. You will be based in Eindhoven
