As Philips transforms its financial processes in view of new business models, we are overhauling our management accounting framework and the related system architecture. We are in the process of redefining the overarching principles and the design of how financial information is structured and made available in order to support performance management. Building on these design choices, a new, integrated platform between the financial and management accounting is being developed as an enabler for fast and effective decision-making. You will contribute by defining key processes and designing the related system setup within the related SAP applications. Project Management Accounting (PMA) is the one source of truth for management accounting in Philips, and has been set up as a portfolio and performance management tool to provide information on profitability for individual value proposition models, customers and markets without the effect of transfer prices on profitability for Philips as a group.
You are responsible for
Define the Collaborative performance management process and managerial reporting of Philips
Key contributor to margin insights breakthroughs out of PMA for Philips
Ensure that the choices done in PMA in the managerial P&L are documented as part of Management Accounting framework and PMA policy documents
Drive effective use of PMA platform within FP&A and broader Philips organization:
Strong understanding of the functional design of PMA system to drive knowledge management and training and elevate capability of FP&A to derive actionable insights out of PMA
Actively participate in BU & Market forum to ensure PMA is accepted as one source of truth for management reporting.
Seeks to anticipate and understand unmet customer needs consistently and creates win-win long-term customer partnerships, while maintaining the integrity of the PMA platform.
Establish operational KPIs for PMA platform to evaluate & control PMA data quality.
Work closely together with the Business Process Experts in the team in defining the improvement roadmap to optimize E2E processes for highest productivity and quality performance.
Serve as business contact for PMA product owners.
Drive change management and effective process implementation according to standards.
Look for opportunity to improve the quality of management reporting, as well as quality of output in own area/team
Champion innovation across Philips to ensure transformation towards winning business models & solutions, defining the design for Solutions reporting in PMA
You are a part of
You will be part of an international team, headed by the Global Business process owner for Management accounting. The team consists of 10 experienced, fast-paced experts in both business processes and systems (including OneBI, BW, SAP). It is part of the FP&A Center of Expertise BPE, but serves the wider Finance community of Philips in laying the foundations for all of our management accounting. Your regular work location will be Amsterdam/ Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Your main stakeholders are the other FP&A Centers of Expertise and you will be working very closely with the Commercial, Operations and FMS CoE in particular. You will also have regular interaction with Accounting Operations, EIM as well as IT Specialists.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Bachelor / Finance / Accounting / Logistic along with years of experience in management reporting
Typically requires 7 plus years’ experience in finance with track record in translating customer requirements into management reporting solutions (both financial and management reporting)
Understands how analytics methods can be used to turn data into business insights & recommendations
Requires a track record of Project Management successes: in managing implementation of projects and motivation of teams.
Relevant experience in the process optimization and re-engineering domains, in either Philips or external
Proven track record of driving or assistance in driving change in an organization
Thorough and well-structured
Strong affinity with LEAN processes and tools
Robust conceptual understanding of process definitions and interdependencies on multiple dimensions combined with pragmatic approach to workable solutions and E2E process implementation
Clear communication and documentation skills
Presentation and visualization skills
