The Managing Consultant Innovation Management Practice will actively contribute to the strategic priorities and sustainable & profitable turnover for the Industry Consulting group within Philips Innovation Services by creating and delivering value-add consulting services to Philips and external customers.

Actively contribute to the strategic priorities and sustainable & profitable turnover for the Industry Consulting group within Philips Innovation Services by building and delivering value consulting services to Philips and external customers. With your leadership skills, you strengthen and manage a team of 20 consultants and guide Philips businesses and external companies in identifying and building creative businesses.

You are responsible for

You are responsible for

  • Generating profitable turnover by actively managing the acquisition process of the team and using your network to spot new opportunities and convert them into projects

  • Developing and maintaining multi-level contacts with your current and potential clients to identify new or follow-on opportunities

  • Managing and driving the sales funnel of the practice

  • Actively marketing yourself and the team by being a key-note or speaking at seminars and through articles on-line and in key publications

  • Initiating customer visits to evaluate project and team performance

  • Monitoring the quality of work project progress and financials, and take corrective actions if needed

  • Actively participating in the strategy development & deployment of the Industry Consulting group

  • Translating business opportunities into concrete projects, services and competences required

  • Ensuring that there are adequate resources & tools at the right moment

  • Foreseeing developments in your practice and continuously improving our service propositions and if needed develop new ones

  • Ensuring adequate staffing, managing remuneration and performance appraisals

  • Maintaining the high level of our competences, clear procedures & ways of working

  • Maintain & advance a culture of collaboration, responsibility & customer orientation

Philips Industry Consulting works for Philips customers and also delivers its services to organizations outside Philips.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • You are a pragmatic, seasoned professional or consultant with a Master’s Degree in Engineering or Business, with at least 20 years of experience in a high-tech and global innovation and development environment

  • You have a proven track record in the areas of in business innovation covering all aspects of innovation be it business model, value proposition --new products, services, and solutions--, value chain, market or processes.

  • You are customer oriented and a have a proven track record of acquisition at new clients and of growing them into long-term multiyear relationships with continuous project engagementsYou are experienced and have an aptitude in managing professionals with a belief in coaching and continuous learning.

  • You have a proven track record in successfully managing professionals into winning teams

  • You have up-to-date and practical knowledge of the leading concepts, approaches, and methodologies in Innovation Strategy, Roadmapping, Portfolio Management, Value Proposition Development, Business Model Innovation, Digital innovation, and the use of analytics and data-based innovation.You have proven commercial and acquisition skills and can coach professionals on that

  • You have the drive and initiative to be pro-active in developing new business.

  • You are a motivated self-propelling person with the determination to succeed and the ability to manage change.

  • You have a wide network of clients at senior and executive levels as well as a network within your profession.

  • You have the maturity and self-confidence to operate at senior and executive levels as well as shop-floor levels. As a strong and compelling communicator you easily connect to your customers and the stakeholders.

  • You are fluent in Dutch and English and willing to travel between 25 and 50% of your time.
