In this role, you have the opportunity to
Manage (structured) financing solutions for our large-scale projects, to develop new financing and service-based customer offerings as well as to drive our financing activities of and lead the relationship with our banking partners.
The key stakeholders the new Philips Capital colleague will be interacting with, are - next to our customers (mainly C-level and Ministry of Health/Finance), financial institutions as well as the leadership, commercial and solution team at Philips (Capital) and other corporate functions such as legal, accounting, controlling.
You are responsible for
Identify, develop and implement customer financing products, programs and solutions in close co-operation with commercial and Philips Capital Western Europe & Africa team,
Develop, present and negotiate financing solutions and agreements for large-scale projects with the customer on C-level or Ministry of Health/Finance,
Engage with senior Philips stakeholders to define and drive Philips Capital strategy and goals supporting the businesses growth ambition,
Drive growth by incremental deal creation acting pro-actively and being a business partner to the commercial organization,
Drive strategic and selective new financing solutions / programs for a minimal use of the Philips balance sheet while at same time meeting market and customer requirements in a dynamic business environment,
Drive out-of-the-box thought processes with markets, product division and financing partners to create and develop solutions for the future,
Manage relationship with our financing partners,
Engage with internal stakeholders required to drive (new) financing and service-based solutions, such as legal, accounting, fiscal department,
Philips Capital reporting (South Africa).
You are a part of
Philips Capital Western Europe & Africa team with the focus to lead our activities for Africa, but also engage in projects and initiatives across the region. Philips Capital is within Philips the single provider of customer financing solutions across all businesses and markets globally. Such financing solutions may range from a standard lease or rental to service or usage based models as well as other structured solutions, such as project financing or Public Private Partnerships.
The function is based in Eindhoven, the reporting line is to Head of Philips Capital Western Europe & Africa based in Amsterdam.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Master degree in Finance / Accounting / Banking or a related field,
At least 5-7 years professional experience in customer financing with good understanding of all related aspects such as credit, legal, preferably in an industry or vendor finance environment,
Experience in Export Finance and working with International Finance Institutions ( such as Development Banks); experience in PPP/Project Finance,
Deep understanding of accounting (IFRS) implication of certain financing structures for Philips and customer,
Strong analytical skills with solid financing process understanding, and related accounting / operational requirements,
Significant experience in financial and legal due diligence (related to financing aspects) including equity type of transactions,
Good understanding of financial modelling (including NPV / IRR analysis for investments) and basic statistical analysis experience,
Good oral and written communication skills,
Solution oriented mind-set, pro-active, entrepreneurial approach, team player,
Strong stakeholder engagement on senior level,
Experience in Emerging/Developing Markets is a must, healthcare sector experience is a benefit,
Languages: English (must), French is a plus.
