Procurement Engineering Business Partners are members of business management teams and represent Global Procurement.
For this position, you are responsible for the development and implementation of the Procurement strategy .. Procurement engineering works on bringing new products to the market with an optimized value proposition and best costs structures. They deliver costs savings and drive value enhancement through key strategic programs. In this role, you will lead and run all these activities with the understanding of the concept within the business unit.

You are responsible for
Representing procurement in the business management team and translate business needs into procurement solutions and ensure TCO driven decisions are made; while bringing improvement ideas on the table;
Ensuring right strategic partners are chosen for the business, and are developed as part of the supply base;
Developing and implementing the procurement strategy to fulfill business requirements. You build on global commodity strategies;
Manage a team of procurement engineers who liaise with commodity managers to deliver procurement expertise and deliverables to the product development teams daily;
Drive value in the Product Design Process with early engagement and supplier involvement. To enable this, you understand the product context End to End, you master the cost drivers and you understand the power of complexity reduction and standardization;
Own and inspire change management projects and set up a new style of procurement for the business unit;
You will be accountable for managing product context via DFX concept, interacting with other functional business.
You are a part of Your team will be spread out over several locations involved like: Amsterdam, Drachten, HongKong, Shanghai - with suppliers predominantly in China, Korea, Turkey, and Eastern Europe.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline or a bachelor degree in a relevant technical discipline;
Professional with at least 8-10 years of experience in procurement. Ideally in at least two of the following: procurement engineering or product development;
Strategic thinker with a ‘can do’ attitude. Result-driven, with a consistent record;
Understanding of suppliers, business models, key drivers, measures, priorities and make or buy decisions;
Great teammate with excellent analytic and communication skills;
Ability to influence and challenge partners both externally and internally is key;
Experience in LEAN or Six Sigma is considered an advantage.
