We built an international and multi-disciplinary network of experience researchers, clinical specialist and business analyst, healthcare service designers and architects with one goal: to create the highest standards patient centric and high-performance healthcare environments. The scale of our projects varies from green field hospital development to clinical service innovation, patient experience improvement and redesign. Our goal is to strengthen global team with a designer who has a holistic vision and ability to explore new ways of providing healthcare.

You are responsible for

We are looking for a Product and furniture Designer who has experience with designing for professional environments in the public service and/or healthcare domain. In this role, you will support the creation and development of complete design solutions for healthcare environments. You will support the creation of concepts up to product and furniture design materialization and detailing. The role requires close collaboration with various consulting and engineering disciplines throughout the design development phases to ensure that a solution accommodates the engineering and manufacturing needs and the project owner’s program. You will participate in international design teams.

Philips Design, established in 1925, and one of the longest-established design organizations in the world. It has studios across the globe – in Amsterdam, Bangalore, Cambridge (US), Eindhoven, Pittsburgh, Seattle, Shanghai and Singapore – and a creative force of 450 professionals. We create the future identity for the portfolio and execute this through projects, guidelines and final design specifications. You will join the Experience Design Consulting community, which consists of about 30 people, with a focus on the transformation of healthcare service environments from departments to complete hospitals and healthcare environments. This includes hospital planning as well as designing exceptional healthcare experience solutions. You report to the Associate Design Director and will be based in our Design office in Eindhoven. To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Master / Bachelor’s degree in product design, interior design or related design discipline

  • Minimum of 4+ years of relevant working experience

  • Proven experience in concept design development and execution of product/furniture and interior design project

  • Experience in designing for professional environments in the public service and particularly the healthcare design is an advantage

  • Proficiency in both 2D and 3D design software (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, REVIT, Enscape)

  • Strong sketching capabilities and use of various creative media

  • Strong spatial understanding and outstanding visualization skills

  • Strong team collaboration and communication skills

  • Experience in healthcare design is an advantage

  • Good business command of the English language (both written and spoken)

  • Proficiency of German, French, Spanish or Arabic is of advantage

  • Versatile skillset hence broad interest in design practice and drive for people centered design

  • Works well in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines.
