In this role, you have the opportunity to
Take the lead in building the Program Platform organization within Product Engineering. The program Platform organization will be responsible for the development of a growing set of product platforms that cut across many businesses of the company. The 4 platforms to start with will be Patient Tables, Battery Management, PCBA and Connectivity.
The Platform organization will have a small own staff, and will staff its projects with Product Engineering employees and those of the partner businesses, procurement, Q&R etc.
You are responsible for
Steering the activities of Product Platform programs consisting of multiple and related projects performed by sub-units and/or staff, ensuring execution is in line with overall strategic goals
Running the programs of various Product Platform deliveries
Developing, designs and executes project plans, schedules, budgets and deliverables
Identifies needed resources for projects, defines and assigns major project roles and exerts influence to ensure successful completion of projects.
Proper execution vs the project/program plan, monitoring the program/project from initiation through delivery, collaborating with internal/external customers and stakeholders, and reporting on and analyses progress and outcomes
Ensuring compliance with and continuous improvement of relevant internal policies, procedures, and standards
Developing a team to ensure the efficient operation of the project/program
Process Improvement and Quality Assurance and makes the project organization efficient and transparent
Drives communications internally for stakeholders and businesses on the multiple programs associated with each of the product platforms, provides management and partners with regular project/program performance status, variances to plan and identification of corrective actions, reports on employees’ performance to the hierarchical superior of the employees for the purpose of appraisal and conducts evaluation at the end of the projects
Coordinating effective communication/change management strategies for projects/programs as appropriate
Ensuring effective transfer/archiving of the project/program results and the associated intellectual capital
You are a part of
The Product Platform organization is a newly founded organization, chartered to deliver of selected product modules to drive quality, standardization and synergies. The team is lean, composed of a Fellow Architect and several Key Account managers.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Master's Degree and relevant experience in leading high-tech company with 20 plus years of progressive related work experience, preferably with a strong product engineering background, preferably in a healthcare company
Demonstrated teamwork, including ability to work effectively across organizational and geographic boundaries, building bridges between teams and creating highly integrated teams
Demonstrated experience leading and influencing development teams in a global, multi-location matrixed organization
Demonstrated Program management skills w/ a consistent track record of on-time, in-scope, in-budget and high quality delivery of solutions that include software and services
Experience leading large scale change processes
Excellent communication skills and proven track record for developing high-trust relationships with key customers, including during times of customer customer concerns
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
