Philips Senior Software Architect Cardiology Informatics in Eindhoven, Netherlands


In this role, you have the chance to define and drive the architecture and design of IntelliSpace Cardiovascular ( . You will work closely with all partners (development teams, other architects, Product Management, Quality & Regulatory, Service, etc.) to ensure that we have a phenomenal product.

Your responsibilities

Working within the R&D Architecture team you will shape the software architecture for our next generation Cardiology applications by researching and prototyping innovative technologies to advance our technology roadmap. As a Senior Software Architect, you are responsible for:

  • Working with partners to understand upcoming requirements and develop the architectural runway and spikes in support of new business features and capabilities

  • Delivering an optimal and consolidated architecture/design, leveraging technology and evaluating design alternatives including cost-benefit analysis

  • Ensuring good and up to date documentation of the architecture and implementation

  • Defining system/items/units (for example components) and their interfaces, crafting well-defined building blocks, system options and scenarios.

  • Allocating responsibilities to system/items/units

  • Driving an accepted implementation of architecture, by explaining, convincing and deciding

  • Understanding, communicating and owning implementation of the non-functional requirements of the system

  • Presenting the technological vision of the solution during release planning.

  • Serving as a mentor and coaching teams towards the appropriate system and component design decisions during implementations

  • Driving software craftsmanship

  • Supporting backlog grooming and release planning

Your team

You will be working in Cardiology Informatics, which is part of the Healthcare IT Business group and report to the Principal Software Architect. The teams will be based out of our newly built office at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven – also known as the smartest square mile in Europe – where corporates and start-ups innovate next to each other.

Your team works according to the Agile principles of Scrum and Lean Engineering principles. You will craft highly innovative, first-of-a-kind propositions that are new within Philips, so an entrepreneurial mindset is an advantage. Together with your team, you will strive for continuous improvement of the outcomes, your way of working, and yourself. Colleagues will challenge and coach you and you should willingly return the favor.

We are looking for:

  • At least 10+ years of working in developing Software products with at least 34yrs in the role of a Software Architect

  • Experience in multiple technology stacks .Net, C#, Core Java - both front end and back end (.NET 4 and above, C#, MVC, Visual Studio IDE)

  • Deep understanding of Object Oriented patterns and principles

  • Database design and integration with MS SQL Server. Good SQL/data modeling skills

  • Good understanding of the latest DevOps practices and the influence of architectural choices on DevOps

  • Experience in working in Healthcare domain, Clinical workflows, Quality, and Regulatory needs, Healthcare interoperability standards like HL7/DICOM is preferred
